Quick Questions About Haste

If a wizard/sorceror casts haste, does he get to cast two spells a round after that.
Also, would a warrior fighting with two weapons get an attack with each hand for the extra partial action, or is he limited to only the one attack? Didn't seem fair that a wizard/sorceror could get off two spells, but a warrior only gets one extra attack.

It's not "Rouge"... That's makeup.
a) Yes.

b) Only one.

Haste gives an extra partial action. Casting a spell with a "1 action" casting time and attacking once are both partial actions.

You must take a full-attack action in order to attack more than once, whether the extra attacks come from dual-wielding or a high BAB.

Casting a spell is a standard action. Thus, with haste granting an extra partial action, yes the spellcaster can cast two spells in one round.

Unfortunately for the fighter, (who also gains a partial aciton) If he is to use all his attacks, It requires a Full-Round Action.

So in order to gain his second (off-hand) attack, he MUST take a full-round action. Which the haste spell does not grant.

You think it is unfair? How many attacks can a fighter memorize per day? IS there a limit to the number of times a fighter can swing his sword per day?

Mages are VERY limited in the number of times thay can go "BANG". Remember it is the only thing they do well.

Actually, haste is often more useful to the fighter than the mage. A mage who's casting two spells per round merely exhausts his arsenal twice as fast. Unless he's certain that the current battle is the last battle of the day, this can leave him seriously under-gunned for the rest of the day.

The hasted fighter, however, has a serious advantage. Don't think of using the extra partial-action for a single attack. Use it for movement. A hasted fighter can move and full-attack every round. Unless you're fighting something really stupid, most foes aren't going to walk up next to the fighter, then stay there as he unloads full-attack actions on them. Haste means he can chase them down, and still do a full-attack.

Sweet.

Conclusion: Haste is extra-goodness for every class. :)

Haste is awesome for a spellcasting rogue.

Round 1 haste

Round 2 xpeditious retreat and move

round 3 start moving adn dishing out sneak attacks to your party's fighter's opponents.

OR

round 1 haste

round 2 TS and sneakattack.

You forgot the +4 to the fighters AC. Almost always a big deal fo a front line combatant. Sometimes its enough to get him to the can't be hit range of most foes.
I've seen many fighters hit mid 30's with just their equipment and a haste spell at or around level 10.
For wizards the +4 AC usually means the crappy AC they had before is slightly less crappy (enemies miss on a 6 instead of a 2 on a good day). Hell most wizards have less AC than their enemies have attack bonuses.

Don't forget, when the opponent is close enough & in the clear, you can use the partial action from haste to make a partial charge. Then follow that up with a full attack.

Since we are going into all the things that Haste is good for when you are a fighter, don't forget Expertise.

Full round attack using two handed grip on your weapon, followed by a partial action of attacking with full expertise (+5 AC from expertise, stacks with Haste bonus) and using a buckler. Shifts your AC by 6 or more, which can make a big difference.

Great thing to do when you need to extend the length of time you survive.
