onlythestrong: Well if you're a tech-head like my guy, you could try a computer implant. Without buying wealth you won't be able to afford one as good as mine, but on normal salary you could get the following:

Draft 2: Electric Boogaloo

Traded in 5 points from skills for a boost to rank. Removed Curious since more rank means a higher Duty to employer. Diverted a couple of points from other skills into Leadership and Tactics. She hasn't had a lot of command experience, but she's not a total newbie to it either.

Since she no longer is the security specialist, I removed her Electronic Lockpick, and used the funds to upgrade her computer and buy another targeting program. The computer can now handle much better software, even if I haven't actually got enough money to buy better software. :) However, it can also run all targeting software simultaneously, which it previously could not do. So that's good.

Shayuri, I noticed you have 50 disadvantages AND 5 quirks.. I was under the impression that the '50 disadvantage' limit also applied to the quirks, appearance, wealth, status, etc.. all the ways of gaining 'bonus points'. Is this not true?


Darwin/onlythestrong : I had a thought regarding my character while reading over Only's psychiatrist character. The two of our characters would, I think, fit fairly nicely as brothers. Now, I also saw that Only's character has a big secret, so if that would in your guys' minds prevent a linked background then I can just rework it to fit with either an NPC brother, or maybe baron_samedi depending on what his character's like.
I'm seeing my guy growing up in the shadow of his brother - you become a doctor, a psychiatrist, phenomenal at what he does, and even though my guy's very smart, he still never really measured up to his even smarter brother. So he becomes a hard-working overachiever, and works to develop the things that he CAN do better than you - like picking up chicks, building things, even a bit of outdoorsmanship.
I think it would fit nicely with how the characters are designed too for disadvantages: you're the lazy (but gifted) older brother who's just naturally good at everything, I'm the hard-working, jealous younger brother, we're even both afraid of spiders, perhaps from some shared childhood trauma?
Heck, I even implanted an advanced computer into my head to keep up!

Jemal, that's fine with me. The only issue is how well my brother can keep the [sblock=secret.] Which is that my character is a spy for Exxon. Hypnotism and a little bit of pharmaceutical grade liquid truth does wonders at getting secrets. [/sblock].

The PCs should all know the secret ahead of time. Would rather keep it from the characters though lol.

That would probably be the kind of secret you keep from me. Perhaps you tried to keep me off the ship so I wouldn't get caught up in it but as usual I wouldn't listen.
Now maybe you're trying to figure out how to keep me safe without revealing said secret?

So just went and re-read the starting briefing.. Exxon is the ones who run the ship that's BEING attacked.. So that's who I work for..
[sblock=Not sure if this is still 'secret']Onlythestrong, I had thought you were ON the Nebula(Target) and spying for the Bounty(Attacker), or are you on the assault ship attacking the Exxon ship whom you're spying for?
If the former, then my previous statement is still valid. If the latter, then that would actually work out great, b/c I would be on the ship you're attacking, and we'd both be working for Exxon.. possibly I'd be a contact?
