"My codename in the Resolutes is Paladin.", says the tall armored man with sword and shield. Standing from his chair he continues, "My true name is... Arthur Pendragon. Otherwise known as the once and future King Arthur." He pauses for a moment as Flux rolls her eyes in mocking disbelief.

"As for my skills, battle is the highest amongst them. My sword is sharp and will cleave through many lesser enemies with ease. My shield is sturdy and will protect me from ranged attacks, perhaps even sending them back at the attackers. My armor is strong and protects me well by turning some of the damage I suffer into healing for me. Beyond that, I can help the group by inspiring them to do better themselves.", he finishes and sits back in his seat.

"As for Relic, Flux, he was a depraved wizard who consorted with undead abominations in his attempt to use magical items from the past to recreate that bygone era in the present. Having the effect of wiping out all current technology and learning since then also. Not to mention probably installing himself as the King-Priest of a new empire. Besides that, he wasn't much... and not too tough in a fight either." Paladin finishes with a chuckle.

"Whoah, really?" Martin seems impressed by Paladin's speech, and unlike Flux, he seems to believe the man implicitly, "You mean you're King Arthur? No way! So tell me, how did it actually happen? I'd assume it was closer to the accounts of Gildas, Nennius, and Geoffrey of Monmouth than to the fabricated romances of Mallory and later authors. Now I can finally know the truth!"

"Hmm...too bad I missed the fight with this Relic. I bet I could have learned something by watching someone who knows what he's doing. I'm still new at all this."

[Sblock=GM Ruling]Disguise as a free action using morph is fine but it will not stack with the disguse skill unless the required time (min 10mins) is taken and a disguise kit used.[/Sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Since we weren't in combat, I didn't care too much for actual actions spent. Notice that in any case I'm using Illusions to mimicry other's voice: it's a free action to maintain, but I need a standard action to create the illusion, so in many cases I'll have to spend a round to create a convincing disguise including voice.

I always understood that the 10 minutes time for an use of the Disguise skill was the minimum time to use a disguise kit, and if you could use something to alter your appearance quickly you could use your skill in less time, as it happens in D&D. But I'm fine with your ruling, and it anyway doesn't change the power's use too much given the rules on Disguise: I just have to be careful with the forms chosen.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]For the record Someone, in general play you are correct--the point of the Morph power for the low-cost versions is that it makes it so you don't need a Disguise kit--you can just switch forms and make a Disguise check with a huge bonus, as per the Master of Disguise sample villain.[/SBLOCK]

RA - I refer you to the following official answer.Morph and Disguise

Concerning the Auditory Illusions - I see that as the ability to create any sound eminating from any point on Clay's body (As per the character sheet.) That is not necesarily going to cover pefect imitations of other people's voices (though the high bluf skill will help.) It certainly would not have allowed the Jukebox to actually play music. That would be Perform: music. (If I have a violin in my hand I can create the sound of a violin, I can't play anything worth listenting to though :>) [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]I'm glad we're clarifying this before the actual adventure starts. Would you allow the illusions to actually perform music, mimic voice accurately and so on spending a Hero point to adquire the Precise power feat?[/sblock]

"But first Mr Clay could you please stop messing around. Your impersonations are not exactly impressive and I would be somewhat surprised if even the most gullible of individuals would be fooled by a walking jukebox for long."

"Mmmmkay." says Clay. He morphs into a caucasian male of average height and weight and neutral features, dressed with the Resolutes' uniform. "I'll stop with this one, most people feel uncorfortable speaking with a faceless bundle"

"Thank you" Smiles Peter, indicating Martin he continues "This is Magus. He is surprisingly skilled with magical spells and the like."

"Now let us begin. I spend most of my time gathering information on potential Resolutes, checking out backgrounds that sort of thing. To facilitate that function it is important that we can call upon information from various walks of life. Recently a very reliable contact came to me with some potentially useful news.

"It seems that an unknown individual has been offering to pay a very large amount of money for what would normally be quite a standard piece of work. Next week a courier will be moving stock from a specialist jeweller in Leeds, England to the local airport. It seems someone wants to ensure the consignment never arrives at its destination. Our source's organisation was not the successful bidder so further information is scarce but he is confident that a robbery will be taking place.

"Now normally this would be a matter for the local police but the circumstances are odd and suggest that the ultimate buyer may be a super powered individual. Obviously that is of concern to us. We are very keen to identify the person behind the scenes and perhaps more importantly find out why he wants to get his hands on the gems.

"To that end we will be sending you to England in order to gather what information you can. We have not informed the locals and it might be prudent if you could avoid involving them so as to protect our sources

"Finally, and I can not stress this point enough, the Resolutes public image is of paramount importance, there is a very big difference between the headlines "Resolutes foil Raid" and "Mutants hide information to look good". I don't want to be seeing any of the latter kind.

"Now there is plenty of time for you to make plans and any information or influence I can bring to assist is there for the asking. Are there any questions?"

My general policy is that a hero point can achieve more or less anything.

Personally I would use something like AP - Improvised Tools + Enhanced Skill Perform - Music (limited to songs on the play list) rather than go with the precise feat.

But that is a style issue a hero point would certainly allow the performance of music.

Mimicking other's voices Clay could do without a HP I am just warning that they would not be perfect. eg he has to pick the right words and intonation etc to be convincing. (I would expect his bluff to get him by in most situations, obviously a hero point would help but it is no guarantee.)

I am also glad this came up before we started but as you say i doubt it will hinder Clay most of the time.[/sblock]

"I'm sure Sergeant knows the exact questions about who and where" says Clay. "I have a slight doubt, however. If everything else fails, and we don't know who's going to steal the jewels and for who, are we expected to stop the robbery?

As Clay do his immitation, Sergeant doesn't react much to it. "Not bad, but you could do better if you combine that with a true disguise. You'll fool the average people, but not the people familiar to it. At least, you will never fool my wife with my imitation and hardly fool a fan of Angelina Jolie with that immitation." tells Sergeant "But it could have many good use without doubt, if at least just to hide your identity."

Sergeant nods. "Clay would have been in danger for his life near Relic when he did his ritual. Our plane crash because of it, so I can imagine a nanotech borg."

"Forget it. He was killing people and transforming them into undead. If you want to learn such powers, you can go yourself to the Super Prison. I don't see much good you could do out of these powers if you use it, and if a Resolute should learn such power would be really bad for the organization image, so it would be more severe against you than against any other, just like a policeman must be above the average peron if he want to keep his job."

Sergeant looks to Paladin. "Back to England it seems." He then asks to Martin. "Can I have a computer that is linked to the Interpol and Scotland Yard database, it might help us to make relation and identify our man. Clay, when we will have information, I'll need you to use that link and start to scan the database for any possible relation between known criminal and this case.

Also, what do we know about the specialist jewelry in Leeds? What business it has done in the last years? What is his reputation? Who is the owner? Who are the employees? Does any has a criminal file?

I'll also need all we can know about the transaction about that jewel. How much it has been bought? Who bought it? The detail about the new owner? Who is in charge to do the delivery? What is that jewel? All diamonds have a record from the moment they are extracted to the moment they are sold, exception of blood diamond, and even then, they generally have some traces. I suppose it is teh same for all precious jewel. If we can have the history of that jewel.

In resume, we need to know all we can on the jewel, on who sold it, who bought it, who carry it and who want it. Also, Peter, from where came your information if you can tell us. I want to know from which area it came from... and by area, I mean both geographical and domain of work, like financial or smugglers..."

[SBLOCK=OOC]After Peter answers the question he can. First, use Benefit(Security clearance) to gain access to the database. I then use Well-Informed to gte any information about the people and organization Peter speak of. Once that done, he will want to use his Contact to speed up the gather of information he still lacking. He will finally take all teh information he got and try to cross them with the databases to see if any criminals can be identified as potential person involve in that case.[/SBLOCK]
