*Martin shrugs.*

"Hey, no harm no foul--I was geeking out over being in a group with King Arthur! I probably wouldn't have introduced myself any differently, I just don't like to use the passive voice, so I didn't want to say 'the way I was introduced'. However, if computers are what we're using for the moment, then one of my non-super skills from before the comet might actually come in handy. I think that's pretty cool!"

"I didn't expected more than an Alias." tells Sergeant. "So when does the jewel will be delivered? How much time do we have to prepare oursleves?"

Next week a courier will be moving stock from a specialist jeweller in Leeds, England to the local airport.]

"As I said the delivery date is just over a week away, May 24th. If my information is correct the briefcase is due to be transfered in the early hours of the morning."

"One week... I suggest we try to learn who is the buyer, what is the jewel, why it attract so much attention and try to find who want it. Maybe we should speak to Mr Akbar. We could talk with him and try to convince him to deliver the jewel later and create a decoy so we can catch the person who have been hired to steal it." suggests Sergeant.

[Sblock=Someone (SALIX pay attention :>)]I have thought about Clay's auditory illusions more overnight and I admit I have got myself confused as to how they work. The concept seems obvious enough Clay can create any type of sound he wants and have it eminate from any point on his body? However I am having conceptualy issues with how that relates to the "illusion" power. As far as I can tell the sounds are in no way illusionary they are real sound waves. So I don't see what happens when someone fails thier will save, it is not as though the sound will suddenly dissapear. (Notice seems more appropriate to spot that they don't sound quite right.)

For example as I understand it a perception range auditary illusion might create the impression that there were police sirens in the next street, but for the same effect Clay would have to go and stand in the next street and then make a noise like a police car. I hope you don't mind but I am going to ask for advice on ATT[/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]The intention was to provide the character with some means to mimic sounds and voices: for example, diguising as a particular individual or some object isn't so useful if you don't speak like the individual or make the sound the object makes. After reading the powers, looks like there's no mimicry ability (as the specific power to imitate sounds and voices), and Morph doesn't specifically allow you to also make your new form's sounds, being the morphing just cosmetic. The closest thing was Illusions: since the sounds would be always coming from Clay's body I went with the reduced range modifier; I also understood that the illusion would move with him and not become stationary, since it's sustained.

So confirming your example, if Clay wants to make noise like a police car, he must be (or elongate) there, and I think he cannot touch a location, make the illusion, move away, and leave the illusion there.[/sblock]

"I was thinking the same" says Clay. "If they know the deliverie's hour and date the simplest thing would be to change it."

"Also seeing the information we have I don't believe we'll be able to identify the suspects before the actual day of the robbery, unless we can susprise them making their preparations. So I'd say we should go there, deliver the jewel safely, closely watch the way from where the jewel currently is to the airport, and if we've found out nothing, do a false delivery ourselves."

"I agree. Both of you are on to something good. The trouble is that Peter said these people seemed uncannily well-aware of the details, so much so that I suspect they have a way to spy, or perhaps a mole--the other shop workers?--to leak information. We'll need a sophisticated ruse, and we may need to not tell anyone about it once we are there--even Akbar. We can offer to guard the delivery for him and make the switch unseen...I could cast Major Image and even make us a fake that appeared identical to the real one."

"If Akbar himself is implicated in all that, it is more a fraud affair than a robbery. Having a total discretion is a good thing, but we should not become paranoiac too. And if we do the substitution ourselves, we become the robber. No, we need to talk with Akbar, but discretion will something we will need to not forget."

"Oh, I don't think Akbar is involved--but someone may be watching him and overhear us. Here, let me give you an example--"

*Martin pulls out a small pocket mirror and his cell phone, then he uses his cell phone to Google Image Search for the jewelry store and Akbar. When he finds a good image (OOC: If Akbar wouldn't have a good image on GIS, he'll pick an object that does), he concentrates, and the scene appears in the mirror, showing what Akbar is doing.*

"And I'm just a newbie. If I can Scry on him, someone else probably can too, right? Just a guess though."

"Yes, it is posssible. But you are the first one who show me such power. There probably some other in this world. But as I told, we have to be prepared, but not paranoid, and a substitution of the jewel without Akbar knowing it would be stealing it, and as Peter told us, it is not a good thing for our image." explain Sergeant.
