rogue/swashbuckler daring outlaw wants to ignoring armor

10th rogue/swashy needs to ignore armor. I only have 3 magical weapons, a +1 rapier, +1 dagger and a +1 X bow. Im going to go with TWF to ITWF because this is what I was trained with in character creation. SO Im gonna need to hit more often and as we all know touch attacks hit the most. And the only 3 ways I know of getting my attacks treated as touch is

wraithstrike
brilliant energy weapon
feat - chink in armor

I'm in the market for anything else that gives touch attack or increases my odds at hitting

Ive tried to play a swashbuckler/duelist 1 time prior...and that ended horribly, weakest pc in party, so Ive already seen this movie, it doesn't end well, getting the bad guy the ale & the girl, no, it ended with me being slowly eaten by carrion crawlers!

any advice other than "dont pick TWF tree its a trap" this is what I rolled in life path...netting myself the two wep fighting feat & persuasive feat free eg as bonus awarded by DM

thanks

Im worm bait!

The cheap option would be an Impaling weapon (MIC), which only works 3/day but is also only a +1 enhancement.

The other big thing you can do to boost your chances of course is find some way of being invisible. If you can reliably do that, the Spectral Skirmisher feat (PHBII) is a nice way of maximizing that advantage.

arcane stunt looks nice, impaling weapon while awesome, is only 3/day- makes meh, thanks for the leads. Is there anything other feats that help ignore armor?

Problem I'm having is the subpar nature of the swashbuckler. Its martial class, a combatant a "melee specialist" that sucks at 2 of the 4 things every combatant is judged. If you go straight swashbuckler

damage: they will be last in party,
AC: again last in party
hit points: they get a d10 so its norm, but because of MAD their con is going to take a hit
# of atts: here is where they can, with feats, be normal.

IMO the swash is suppose to be a face man, you know the sharp witted charismatic leader & ladies man. But with a class that is already MAD adding cha to the list.....really this class even sucks at what it was intended

i need touch attacks, wraithstrike wand or true strike in sword handles

The Spectral Dagger is for you, although it's probably a bit costly to have two of those at your level (20,000 gp each). Wielded like a dagger, it's actually a continuous Chill Touch effect. Now that's nothing to write home about damage-wise, and doesn't add your Str to damage, but your main damage source is Sneak Attack/Insightful Strike, anyway. You also ignore DR, which can be a big deal sometimes, and as far as I can see, the spell does negative energy damage, which is rarely resisted. Oh, and some opponents may from time to time take minor Str damage, while Undead must save or flee (they'll probably save, but still).

http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?279079-3-5-The-TWF-OffHandbook is the primary guide for TWF and such.

http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=10768 is my half-baked guide to playing a swashbuckler.

And for others who haven't seen it yet, http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?186283-Flat-footing-compendium-(3-5) for flat-footed stuff. I haven't found a guide on doing touch attacks yet.

Then there's http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?187851-3-5-Lists-of-Necessary-Magic-Items to make sure to be prepared for random crap going on.

Nothing like creating a swashbuckler styled pc, then read jacks swash-guide, and re-learn that you suck all over again!!! Small changes, some not so subtle, that should of happened in Swashbuckler creation to make them playable.

good reflex and good fort saves, a martial class based on fleece-o-foot that lacks good reflex saves is just, well, just stupid! Its forehead slapping bad design pure dumbshit!

1st level cha mod added as bonus to defend against all combat maneuvers including: grapple, disarm, overrun, bullrush, sunder, trip, cha mod added to sense motive cks made vs combat bluff (cant think of others wheres my coffee) cha bonus cannot exceed Swashbuckler level. cha also adds to disarm attempts made by swashbuckler.
Cha should also add to initiative of the Swashbuckler- bonus not to exceed SB levels. cha mod as bonus to to jump & tumble checks

4th level: quick draw: as a free feat

7th level: or there abouts: cha mod to will saves in place of wis = power of personality feat

nothing earth shattering, but this would 100% flavor the class and make you feel like "hey Im playing a swashbuckler" not some unarmored, panty waist, Nancy boy whos left holding the door for every other martial class ever made...I think even the Samurai (the bad version) kicks his ass!

Both the CW samurai and the swashbuckler have significant problems in terms of being useful. The samurai at least has Imperious Command to boost its Mass Staredown ability. The swashbuckler has Daring Outlaw to boost it a bit, but having to multiclass to make another class usable is quite a crappy way of dealing with things.

well lets be honest here the Paladin sucks beyond dipper, Samurai blows period, the fighter, barbarian, ranger..they are either front heavy so they become a dipper, or they just kinda suck at some stuff they shouldn't. They all have one major weakness THERE NOT FULL SPELL CASTERS!

Casters can be better at being a rogue than a rogue, better at fighting than a fighter all with the flick of a finger and a brief syllable or two. If there is an advantage to gestalt it is typically party balance, most players are going to be spellcasters.

It wasn't always this way, oh I remember the days, it was, oh yah 1st level! & really up thru 6th level, from here on it all changed, but up until then, I was the dominating fighter and that little worm of a spell caster hid behind me. Now some 9 levels later, I got a new sword and some cool boots, that little worm is now called master. Master teleports all over the world, travels thru planes and spk to angels, he even turned me into a nute once, well I got better! As for me I just sharpen the sword he made me so I can actually fight most things we encounter. Oh the master has returned, I better get his tea ready, you know how he likes his tea nice n hot right when he walks in the door....

SOOO is the fate of all muggles!
