  • SYSTEM: Traveller
  • PRODUCT TYPE: hardcover supplement/softcover adventure
  • RETAIL PRICE: $59.99/$19.99
  • DESCRIPTION: Aliens of Charted Space: Volume 4 explores four species within Charted Space. The Suerrat are a human subspecies that claim to be a Major Race, as they independently developed interstellar travel based on generation ships but as they had not developed jump technology, others do not accept their claim. One of the oldest species associated with the Hive Federation, the Za’tachk are a peaceful (some would say cowardly) species with a natural tendency for structure and organization have made them invaluable running the vast Hiver bureaucratic machine. The Gurvin are a hexapod species resembling Terran otters and as consummate traders and merchants, they are the commercial backbone of the Hive Federation. A cat-like semi-humanoid species, the Tezcat are violent and warlike, and through the unification of the Shaper Church they have established a pocket empire. This book also contains rules for creating Travellers from each species. In the Reach Adventure 8: Makergod, the raiders of Oghma mercilessly prey upon the blighted star systems of the Outrim Void. When the PC Travellers get caught up in an Oghman raid, they find themselves going to the raiders’ home world which has deep, dark secrets.

GUMSHOE Starter Kit Bundle by Pelgrane Press
  • SYSTEM: GUMSHOE
  • PRODUCT TYPE: book bundle
  • RETAIL PRICE: $69.95
  • DESCRIPTION: Not a new product but instead a discounted bundle of three related horror RPG titles for Gumshoe. The Esoterrorists are intent on tearing the fabric of the world apart and the PCs are elite investigators out to stop them. Fear Itself plunges the PCs, ordinary people, into a disturbing contemporary world of madness, horror, and violence. Use it to run one-shot sessions in which few (if any) of the PCs survive or as an ongoing campaign in which the PCs gradually discover more about the terrifying supernatural reality which hides in the shadows. The Book of Unremitting Horror depicts thirty horrific creatures, nightmarishly intimate, often created from human vice, or let loose by human greed. They are the ugly crawling things under the rock of everyday, sane reality.

I wonder if it's possible to connect some of the OSE adventures in the anthologies into a coherent campaign?
Up to a point, I'd say yes. The low level ones could be connected (using a found treasure map if nothing else). There's a workshop, sewer, temple, burial mound, and ooze lair that can't be that hard to tie together. I could see kicking off a campaign by letting PCs find out about The Jeweler’s Sanctum (Levels 1-3), Barrow of the Bone Blaggards (Levels 1-3), and Shrine of the Oozing Serpent (Levels 1-3) and go through those in any order they choose. Then provide clues to the higher level adventures for levels 2-3.
