RPG Print News – Pacesetter, Skeeter Green, Silver Bulette, and More

Dungeons & Dragons 5E, OSR, and Mutant Crawl Classics all have print products out this week.

Dungeons & Dragons 5E gets a book of adventures to kick off a campaign of various low levels and a module of three Halloween adventures. Old school D&D gets many new adventures including a solo adventure and one for one cleric, an entire valley setting of dinosaur adventure, and a supplement all about fantasy languages but also including a dragon. Mutant Crawl Classics gains hyper intelligent monkey scientists, a cybernetically enhanced giant magma swimming possum, and mutant batmen. There is also a set of two hex battle maps of a rose labyrinth complete with counters.

  • DESCRIPTION: The Book of Beginnings offers a multitude of adventures designed to cover some or all of the three main pillars of play: combat, exploration, and roleplay. There are beginnings for 1st, 3rd, and 5th level or the adventures can be adapted into side quests. Into the Unknown is a solo adventure for a character of level one to five. Training complete, the PC moves on from Farrador to explore abandoned mines, save villages from devastating foes, and claim a name as the next true adventurer. Witch, Grave, and Haunt are three Halloween-inspired adventures designed for low level play and generally shorter in length. In The Witch of Monte Rosa: farmers cower in fear and everyone whispers that it is the coming of the Witch. First level PCs investigate. The Haunted House of Clendil needs to be reclaimed by second to third level PCs from whatever foul denizens that have taken residence. Third to fifth PCs investigate a small and lonely plateau because of whispered rumors suggest an evil has awakened in the graveyard on top in Six Feet Under.

The PCs have heard that fabulous riches are hidden deep within the cursed archipelago 's lagoons, temples, and caves. Prayer Quest is an adventure for a single cleric of fifth to seventh level. The goddess Kestorra has called in a long-standing favor to the cleric's deity. A promising acolyte has been kidnapped and hidden in a dark and evil plane along with a secret artifact he was carrying for the goddess. Both are now lost in this plane controlled by the deity Jrargurot, the god of death and disease. The cleric must rescue the acolyte and recover the artifact to the consider their god's favor paid in full.

Fire in the Mohle is an adventure for PCs of levels three to five. They explore a super science facility created by hyper intelligent monkey scientists. An AI asks them to assist by exterminating his MOHLE problem. Unfortunately, that MOHLE is a cybernetically enhanced giant possum created to swim through the magma tunnels beneath the surface of the planet. PCs explore the unexpectant verdant swath of jungle amidst the barren desert in Jungle Incursion Into the Lair of the Batmen. They discover the technology of the Great Science Apes and hopefully survive their mad creations as they face the dreaded Night Flyers, mutant batmen plaguing the area.
