Can anyone tell me exactly how this spell works? As I read it, the caster can select someone he knows, anywhere, and speak a 25 word message to him, with the recipient able to reply for 25 words.

The duration is 10 minutes, though. Is it tne minutes' worth of 25 words, or just the one exchange?

It's sort of like a phone card.

The casting time is 10 minutes not the duration.

The duration is 1 round to mean that the target hears your message (of less than or equal to 25 words) and replies at the same time with you immediately getting the response.
