ooc: my 4yr old wants in on the action so he is adding smilies

You find an open table suitable to your needs in the back of the room not far from the great stone chair and its watching occupant. Shortly after finding a seat one of the servers finds its way over to the table and stands ready to take your order but does not speak.

Lookspring settles down into his chair with a sigh of relief at finally finding a place to rest. His head swivels constantly as he drinks in the sights of such an unfamiliar place. When the server approaches, he drops the chunks of fishman meat on the table and gestures towards the kitchen in an attempt to communicate that he would like them broiled. He also makes a drinking motion and plops four gold coins on the table hoping that the server won't skimp on the good drinks.

As they walk to their table, Rowan looks around at the other tables. Does he see anything that looks edible? If so, he'll point to it when the server comes.

Phoenix looks around as they make their way to the table. If she sees anything that looks appetizing, she'll point to that in ordering her meal. She also asks the server about renting a couple rooms for the 'night'.

Around the room you see some type of soup - although it is difficult to see exactly what is in it, fish, cheese, stew - again it is difficult to see exactly what is in it, roasted meat, and what looks like cockroaches covered with green sauce - yummy. As you look around it seems you can get almost anything here.

The server does not speak but sets a price list on the table. All food and drinks cost 5sp, rooms are 5gp.

The party orders their meals and the server departs to the kitchen.

All around you conversations are hushed and you can feel many eyes watching you.

Rowan will try the meat and soup. He's pretty hungry, but will definitely avoid the bugs. "Let 'em stare" he mutters to the others. "He'll contribute towards the room.

Phoenix orders the meat and soup along with a drink and a seperate room. She makes sure her drink is a medium-strong alcoholic drink. Strong enough to have some kick but not impare her ability to fight if needed. "Not much like the Red Dragon Inn, huh?" Phoenix says quietly to her companions.

OOC: Paid 6 GP total for food, drink, and room.

Lookspring impatiently awaits the return of his cooked pieces of fishman meat. Seeing the others are interested in their own room, and not wanting to be kept up by their noisy coupling, he grumbles and forks out the money for his separate room. He checks beneath the table for his viper companion and ensures that it is not going to bite him while he's distracted. "So are you thinking snake men eat at places like this? I am seeing fangs but no scales on these ones. What are you thinking snake men eat? In the wild they are biting and poisoning prey then swallowing it, or crushing it with mighty coils. I will be watching to see who eats in this fashion here."

As you look around the common room you see a mix of races, 5 drow, 7 duergar, 6 derro, 2 muscular humanoids with gray scaly skin and eyeless sockets in their face, 3 creatures like the ones you defeated at the gate, and a couple dwarves.

As your food is served it is tasty, even pleasing although unrecognizable. The server scoops up the coins offered in payment and never mutters a word.

Lookspring samples his cooked fishman meat and smacks his lips noisily. "The fishmen are being somewhat tasty, but greasy. They are needing some spices I am thinking." Seeing the insects in green sauce go untouched by the others, he snatches them from their plates without asking. He talks around a mouthful of bugs and says, "I am wondering if any of these speak the common tongue. If none are doing so, we will be having to hire an interpreter."
