ValinDromaYavinIV.jpg

[sblock]A native of Commenor, Valin spent most of his early years about his father's starship, running cargo to various planets. Because of this, he was flying at a young age, and as soon as he was old enough, joined the Imperial Navy. After spending a decade rising in the ranks and putting up with the realities of life aboard an Imperial starship, he was transfered to a Carrack Cruiser as the starship's executive officer.

For five years, he worked with the captain of the ship to put down small uprising, deal with pirates and smugglers, and other relatively small tasks that still managed to wear on him. Though it soon became apparent that the majority of the personnel aboard the ship felt the same way, none could justify outright mutiny. It was no even spoken about, though the uncomfortable air on the ship was apparent to everyone.

It was a year before the destruction of Alderaan when the entire crew of the ship defected, taking the Carrack to the Rebellion along with them. They were to take part in putting down a supposed Rebel Cell on Commenor. Multiple civilian transports were destroyed and cities were put under martial law under the control of Stormtroopers. During the operation, Valin's wife and children were killed by Stormtroopers simpled for being in the wrong place. When the report came in, that was it. After a short, loud discussion with the captain, they agreed that it was enough, and after announcing the defection to the ship to the sounds of cheers from the crew, they jumped away to find the Rebellion.

After joining the Alliance's small fleet, Valin was given a ship of his own to command, a small Marauder cruiser. Many of the crew that had defected with him followed, and along with a small fleet group, they have spent most of the time taking on small, hit and run actions against the Imperial Navy's supply lines.

Since the loss of Yavin, however, Valin and his ship have worked separate from the rest of the Alliance Fleet. Continuing hit and run tactics, he was also tasked with recon missions into the Core worlds and running blockades to deliver support to smaller Rebel groups on planets, all due to the speed of the ship and the crew's ability to deal with overwhelming odds.

As a commander, he is generally closer to his crew than most captains. He values the knowledge of those around him, and will even get his hands dirty if given the chance. When it comes to dealing with Imperials, he has surprisingly little compassion for them. Despite serving under the Empire for years, Valin has made it clear to all under his command that they all had a chance. Alderaan was their last chance. If that didn't wake anyone else up, then nothing else would and there was no need to even ask for a surrender. That unflinching attitude has given him more than a few conflicts with Admiral Ackbar and the others amongst Alliance High Command, but they have never done more than threaten to give his command to someone else.[/sblock]

SyaWhiteYavinIV.jpg

[sblock]Despite being born on Coruscant, Sya White spent the majority of her childhood on a small, backwater world at the edge of Wild Space. This meant that she didn't grow up under the boot of the Galactic Empire, only seeing Stormtroopers or Star Destroyers in the holovids that made their way to the planet. Still, like many young people in the galaxy, she was quickly drawn to the romantic concept of the Rebellion against the Empire.

As soon as she was old enough, Sya left her home to join the Rebellion. It took some time, but she eventually joined up with a group of Duros and Corellian smugglers doing supply runs to the Alliance base on Dantooine. Eventually, Sya joined the Rebellion officially, helping to fill out desperately needed numbers in the small Starfighter Command.

Though her squadron was one of the many eventually assigned to Yavin Base, she did not participate in the assault on the Death Star. Instead, her squadron saw action during the last days of the base, covering escaping transports and keeping the Imperial fighters occupied. She was shot down during the operation, but managed to eject and eventually find cover in the jungles until she eventually escaped with the help of the last Rebels left on the moon.

Since then, by her own request, she was transfered out of Starfighter Command to serve as support for a SpecForce team serving under Valin Droma's command. Though the job had sounded boring initially, she was still able to get in the cockpit of starfighters over various missions, even if she had to find an excuse to do so when it wasn't all that necessary.

The realities of the fight against the Empire have made Sya a more cynical person than when she left her home. Usually, though, this shows its face in badly timed sarcasm and threats to fly off the rest of the group. Since she's never has actually done that, the threats quickly lost their edge, but Sya never stopped them and always at least tries to sound serious about it. Due to her sarcasm, any cockpit occupied by her and someone else usually devolves into arguments and yelling about her piloting skills.[/sblock]

[sblock]Sara Ines is a rarity amongst the Rebellion, being from the Hapes Cluster. Beyond that, though, she has rarely spoken of her past. While she doesn't seem to be the stereotypical Hapan woman, some of the men working with her since she joined the Rebellion have at least felt unnerved with the way her eyes narrow when she looks directly at them.

After joining the Alliance months before Yavin, she helped to coordinate the base's starship traffic. But when the base was abandoned and she was one of the last to get off the moon, Ines volunteered to assist those that had saved her from an Imperial cell. To that extent, she serves as a co-pilot and tech as support with Lt. White.

Sadly, for her at least, that means constantly having to deal with Lt. White. Very rarely does this result in the quite moment, but she does seem to have at least a passing respect for Lt. White's abilities. To the rest of the group, however, Ines is generally accepting and at least attempts to be helpful, even if she can sometimes come across as if any words spoken to her are an annoyance.

Ines' greatest difference with most of the group and most of the Alliance is her feeling towards combat. Though she has never given anyone a straight answer to exactly how she feels about it or why, she has made it quite clear by her attitude in many cases that she does not wish to be involved in it. In some cases, it can be a problem, but Ines has still managed to not let it get in the way of her job.[/sblock]

[sblock=Background]Tebbo Keeg had been part of a secret organization within the Repel Alliance cell here in Curamelle known as the Black Rancors. Trite Grimloo, an operative within the Rebel Alliance, had started the Black Rancors in order to carry out extremely hazardous operations. Trite was the only one that knew all of the members and the only one with any connections within the alliance. This was in fact a requirement as missions often exposed members to the very real possibility of capture and the less they knew the better. To better hide the identities of its members Trite had given each a number and he himself had been Rancor Leader. Tebbo was Rancor Seven.

Recently Trite had called a meeting for a particularly difficult mission and for the first time all of the members of the Black Rancors would be together. However, Tebbo was delayed by an imperial checkpoint and was late for the meeting. When he arrived he found Rancor Leader and ten others had been killed. From the looks of things they had been ambushed. It looked like the work of Imperial Stormtroopers. Not knowing what to do Tebbo has been searching for other members of the alliance in order to continue what he started. He also wishes to find out how the other Black Rancors were killed. He knows that besides Rancor Leader there were actually twelve members, so one is still unaccounted for.[/sblock]
