I'd personally go Old Republic era if there is a Jedi in the group, as they are a lot more plausible in that era to be in an adventuring party especially if it's a small scale adventure (or appears to be).

But if you do do a post-Empire adventure with a casino make sure the casino has a wall of their biggest winners with Lando Calrissian at the top.

To me casino always says one thing: casino heist.

I can refluff if they pick the KoToR era. Less variety in ship types and I've got the Takes of the Jedi sourcebook.

Think the player is going with young Jedi. He wants a diplomat type rorvJedi counselor in d20 rules.

I kind of look at the relative difficulty of force powers in the imperial era as a feature not bug. Old Republic I might set it just after KoToR2 so getting trained will still be hard.

I can convert SWSE ships to D6 format easy enough.
