Summon Monster IX: This spell functions like summon monster I, except that you can summon one creature from the 9th-level list, 1d3 creatures of the same kind from the 8th-level list, or 1d4+1 creatures of the same kind from a lower-level list.

Okay, we are working towards a swarm here (sort of).

So, are we talkiing about A Feat or Two or A class Ability maybe to make some of the lesser summoning spells SUMMON Swarms.

OR, does anybody care?

I care. I do!

I just don't have anything helpful to contribute yet.

Wait! Warlock invocations are infinite.
Warlocks can summon swarms.
Therefore, Warlocks can summon infinite swarms.

...nah, don't really have anything helpful to contribute.

So, on to basic questions.

1. Base Class? Sorcerer or Wizard or Cleric or Druid?

They Can all use Summoning Spells at Different Levels.

2. Make the additional summoning abilities a FEAT or A Class Ability?

I was thinking of making "ability to cast summon spells" one of the pre-requisites, which leaves various classes open to entrance.

I was thinking the swarm abilities would be class abilities.

I meant to put together something by now but time got away from me. Thanks for bumping.

Yeah, I understand about time, last couple of weeks I barely even get online compared to what I used to, let alone have time to pour thru the books I have.
