GM: Since you seemed set on climbing down, I went ahead with that part of your plan and rolled stealth. Looks like you used up all your stealth sneaking around Riverguard.

The watch post and ravine are to the west of the monastery and the more ruined part is on the east - pretty much a line running up from 'G' to the eastern edge. Entrances 'E' and 'G' are the two closest.

Forgot to mention that M8 is an open courtyard that you can see into, though you haven't seen anything apart from the four statues. A rectangle that fits from door 'I' all the way to the farthest back wall forms the highest tower.

You settle on sneaking down the cliff and into the Monastery, picking a spot before the scree slope properly forms you fasten a rope and climb down unfortunately someone kicks some rocks loose and they clatter down the cliff face. The three Duergar at the watch post can be heard arguing in dwarvish;
"What's that?"
"Just more rocks falling, stop stalling and place your bet."
"Someone best go check it out."
"Well, I'm no going on my own."
"Fine, we'll send the patrol when they get back."

Having chosen a time when the two patrolling dwarves were farthest away, you realise that you have a few minutes before anyone comes your way. Whereas you could have left the rope hanging without fear of it being found by accident, it'll almost certainly be seen by anyone coming to investigate the noise.

OOC:
I was hoping we would have enough rope craft to be able to pull it down after us?
Now we have seen each part of the cliff, how hard would it be to climb down without the rope?

Ilvellios pulls the rope down, then gestures to the east side of the building.

OOC:
Great, thanks. There is an opening, a window? on the far east wall, could someone get through there?

OOC: Just to confirm at this point we are technically undetected and safe from detection? With the rope pulled down to our position?

If that's the case Duran can shift into a lizard tiny beast 20ft climb speed while slow going it would allow him to scout out the monastery sneaking through the windows and along the ceiling.

Errol winced as the rocks went scrabbling down the hill. He froze, listening to the arguing duergar. Well, the head a few minutes, at least, before the patrol was sent.

“Let’s get under cover,” Errol whispered to the others. They didn’t have time to dally around. He darted after Illvelios toward the east side of the monastery and pressed up against the wall. “Which door?” he asked, motioning toward the garden door or the southeast entrance.

You haven't been detected, but the Duergar are alert and suspicious - essentially they will be making perception checks (as opposed to passive perception) and your DC's for stealth have gone up slightly. Duran could sneak around inside the monastery but those outside would have to avoid the patrol - depending how much time you spend scouting. Although there are plenty of hiding places, they are all more suited to darting from point to point, rather than staying put for any length of time.
