Errol cursed as Hellenrae vaulted over the statue and rushed past him, heading back inside. Ilvellious was right. She could have the whole monastery up in arms, and they didn’t know how many that might be.

“Yes, let’s be out of here. We got what we came for,” he said, moving over to give Sir Jondal a hand. “Beware of the duergar on the way out,” he warned the others.

Retreat ah yes easy for those without a giant magical statue trying to eat them. Waiting for the others to pull back Duran waits for a opening and retreats him self slowly.
OOC: Duran will disengage and retreat with the others keeping 10ft behind them until the gargoyle stops giving chase.

With the immediate threat now over, you have a chance to notice a faint glow coming from a hollow inside one of the pedestals the gargoyles were on.

Leaving the garden, you quickly catch up to the escapee's. Without direction, they hadn't gone far before stopping, wondering which direction to go.

GM: Let me know if anyone stops to grab whatever's glowing - I rolled to see if you saw anything and you only spotted the glow.
You have a choice of rushing the entrance to the canyon, which is guarded by up to six Duergar (without the time to wait for a patrol to leave, you are relying on luck to have some of them away from the entrance), or trying to get 16 malnourished and overworked prisoners up a stone cliff. Unless anyone has any other ideas.

OOC: If Duran is able be will grab it he's fast enough to catch up.to the party. Duran's bear form can also serve as a mount with a climb speed lash them to him with a rope and he can climb up

Spotting the glow in the pedestal, Errol reached in to snatch out whatever it was. He gave Duran a pat on the rump as they made their way out of the gardens.

“How does everyone feel?” Errol asked. “Are we up for another fight if we charge the duergar?” He loaded another bolt into his crossbow and looked back behind them to see if anyone was following.
