Errol eyed the bound man across the river in the gnoll camp. “Think he is one of the knights?” he wondered. He eyed the rustling bushes. He felt they should try and help the man, as well, but it seemed dangerous to do so.

“I can provide ranged support,” Errol nodded, readying his bow as Ilvellios tied rope around his waist and prepared to cross the river.

Day 4 Afternoon


Illvellious tied a rope around himself and secured the other end before slipping into the river. He easily crossed to other bank where he untied himself and secured the rope. Moving carefully into the camp he headed towards the prisoner.

Getting close you see two small eyes peering at you over a beak, what you thought was a feathered cloak is in fact it’s feathered skin. It opens its beak as if to speak, but a noise from behind you draws your attention.

Four gnolls push out of the bush. One is carrying a dead rabbit and another a bundle of wood.

The river is about 12ft across with the centre of the camp about 20ft from the other bank in a clearing about 30ft across, though clear all the way to the river. Illvelious is near the centre of the camp and the gnolls have come out of the bushes just to the right. (Assuming straight ahead is a lone from the party through the centre of the camp)

GM: Since the gnolls detected Illvilious sneaking into the camp neither are surprised by each other, however the gnolls do not know about the rest of the party, so everyone else has surprise. If you roll higher than 3 for initiative then you can post your round 2 actions as well, please just make it clear for which round the actions are for.

Seeing the gnolls come into the clearing from the bushes just as Ilvellious reached the feathered figure, Errol drew back on his bow and let three arrows fly at the biggest one, though the third shot flew wide.

As the gnolls became visible, Ilvellios rapidly calculated the odds, and decided that fighting across the river would be tactically advisable. In order to initially put them on the back foot, he ran forward and swung his staff once at the closest the, gathering his focus, he made a break for the river, using the run up to hop, skip, and boom! He cleared the river easily with feet to spare, rolled to break his momentum and turned back to face his enemies.

Using a Ki point for Step of the Wind:
You can spend 1 ki point to take the Disengage or Dash action as a bonus action on your turn. and your jump distance is doubled for the turn.
Long Jump: When you make a long jump, you cover a number of feet up to your Strength score if you move at least 10 feet on foot immediately before the jump.
With a Strength of 10, Ilvellios can now jump 20' as part of his 40' move!

Bonus action: Disengage

Spend remaining Move to run to the river and jump across, I believe I should be able to make it across without problem:-D

Note if attacked by a missile, will use his reaction to Deflect Missiles!

Satisfied with the start of the fight, Ilvellios sent a streak of light towards the Gnoll leader, before pulling back from the front line.
