The Crux of the Matter

(OOC: They always seem to be appearing surrounding the group, and the group is too clustered for a Fireball to be of much use. However, if Ashnar could convince the others to spread out a bit more and spread in a collapsed concave semicircle formation, the enemies will have no choice but to appear in such a way that he can hit at least half of them with one Fireball and avoid all allies. The tradeoff is that they'll be able to flank you)

(Are we talking closer to
X.....X
..X.X..
X.....X

or to
.XXXX.
X....X

, here? The latter seems closer to be able to divide the enemy force in half, but the former seems closer to what you describe, but in theory allows a four-pronged attack from the enemy.)

(how much time did pass between the attacks, by the way? It sounded like one round, correct?)

"If we form a line or half-ellipse, they may be forced into two easily-fireballed groups. Downside being, we become even easier targets than we already are."

"We will try... Vanitri defend Ashnar, I'll defend Tenbrynn. Both caster, ready a fireball. Hogarth, you soundblast the largest standing group. Laynie, if you have something good, it might be the time to try it." on that Rinaldo place himself in the line, next to Tenebrynn.

Hogarth follows Rinaldo leads. he ready his soundblast, and will try to cast it just after the fireballs, on as much as standing creature as he can place it.

Gundar, Grendath, Gliran... please help us, it won't be too much. Valeria...

(OOC: Last time it was a round between attacks, so not one attack per round but attack, no attack, attack)

OOC: OK, if we have a round, Hogarth will heal Tenebrynn, converting his silence spell, before readying his sounburst. That should heal 16, and Rinaldo will protect Ashnar instead... both caster need to survive that round to cast there fireballs.

(OOC: Sure, he can do that--though you may want to have him try a second heal instead of the soundburst just to be safer. Either way. Also, if you have a wand or something, Rinaldo could also try to UMD it during the break round, as readying both times wastes one round's worth of actions.

Still waiting on Tenebrynn and then the delayers (of which Ashnar and Vanitri are not yet accounted))

OOC: Soundburst have a chance to stun the creature. Stun creature cannot act, so it will allow the group to kill the creature before he unstun and leave.

And by the way, Rinaldo doesn't have UMD. He sells magical items, he doesn't use them.
