I recently came across this image and it just wouldn't work in color.

Creepy!

I personally have a strong preference for B&W illustrations in RPG books.

I love the Willingham pieces from B/X. The Otus cover art on the red box is nice, but it was the big Willingham piece on the first page that actually hooked me when I gave B/X a first doubtful look six years ago.
