D&D 5E The Lost Citadel: a new apocalyptic 5E setting from Green Ronin

We wanted to examine the notion of high fantasy laid low--a Tolkien-esque or standard D&D-esque world subject to a disaster on every level, reduced to more of a gritty, Thieves' World- or Howard-esque aesthetic.
If the aesthetic is accompanied by actual rules that transform D&D into a gritty, Thieves' World- or Howard-esque game, color me interested! :)

(And yes, that's not a question, so you don't have to answer it)

Some people still rise as the Dead, in a manner that--to characters in the setting at least--is utterly unpredictable. (That is, they have no real way of telling who'll rise and who won't, though there are some tendencies they're aware of and take into account.)
You could make it so only people with even ability scores rise as undead.

Finally a reason to stick with those 17s and 19s in the D&D system! ;)

We are so close to the next stretch goal.

No! Sleep! Til poster! ;)

Also, in the updates section, there's an early spread--with info and art--for the ghul, one of the new PC races of the setting.

We have poster map!!! :D

I recognize that most you are 5E fans--given that this is the 5E forum--but if you happen to prefer Green Ronin's AGE system, know someone who does, or just enjoy them both, you'll be happy to know that the AGE conversion document for The Lost Citadel is the next stretch goal.
