[sblock=wedding!]can't wait to hear about the wedding. I'm in an airport checking in on my phone. I'll post some finnian stuff tonight.[/sblock]
Finnian looks over the metal object in his hands some more as his companions head out the door.

You know, this thing reminds me of hunting in the woods with Erlai. I bet I could fashion this around his neck.

Finnian motions for Erlai to come closer. The hawk hops to the ground near Finnian and watches carefully as the ranger brings the mystical looking sigil towards the bird's head.

Aaaaaahhh!

Finnian lets out a blood curling scream. Emral and Drivan look back through the door to see that Finnian has collapsed to his knees on the floor. His head is thrown back with a look of pure agony on his face.

His face is actually hard to make out. The chalk circle is erupting in a blinding white light that is mirrored in the metal circle held between his hands and the whole scene is bathed in an eerie glow. As the howl continues... Something looks wrong. It's hard to make out through the light, but Finnian's appearance is more beast-like, animal. His head is thrown back as the cry continues to erupt from his mouth in a manner more like... a wolf.

With a loud SNAP! the circlet closes around Erlai's throat and the light is extinguished.

Finnian falls to the floor with his eyes shut, but then groans and comes to his feet, unchanged.

What just happened there?, he says as he rubs his head. Let's get out of here. I need some rest.

[sblock=OOC]well I tried to write what I had in my head for the last few days. But it's hard to write on a phone. Hope it came across OK. [/sblock]

Marco opens the door and grins at Vaunea. "Yes, we certainly are...and we're sleeping all the safer knowing you're here."

He gives Vaunea a hug, and then returns to his family.

I confirm these XP total. A job well done, all of you!

As an aside, I think this is the first XP award I've been judge for. Strange.

Finally, I'll ask that Ken create a new TURTLEDOME! thread and that any further posting takes place in there. ENWorld doesn't like threads to have more than 1000 posts, so I really should've stepped in and mentioned this about 200 posts ago ... oops. :erm:

Edit: Re: PCs owning property. We don't really care if you own property, as long as it doesn't give you any mechanical bonuses. Since we don't bother keeping track of rent money and all that crummy mundane stuff, you guys 'owning' this old abandoned building isn't much different than having a bunch of rooms at the tavern - a place to sleep and keep stuff you don't want to carry around.

Basically what I'm saying is: the judges don't have a problem with the party taking over the abandoned pawn shop as a base of operations. ;) Your friendly DM might have a different position, though, and since it's an element in his game his say goes.

[sblock=rulings]I can't find the ruling on Cleave and minions I asked earlier. Sorry. Minions can or can't be killed by secondary cleave damage. I ask because it might change my feat choice for level 2.[/sblock]

[sblock=To Do]I've updated Finnian and sent an email to the judges for review. No word yet.

There are two pieces of equipment that I have my eye on. One is a subtle throwing hammer +1 (680gp) to give Finnian better damage from his off-hand and a ranged option. The other is quickhit braces (1000gp) to ramp up twin strike damage.

If we need the money to go elsewhere to prepare for the big fight, then I want to buy a mundane off-hand weapon with better damage. Possibly buy a throwing hammer and then ask Swillwort to enchant it after the fight.[/sblock]
