D&D General What are the "Fun Parts" for you?

My favorite thing is talking to the town guards. They're the most interesting NPCs you can find. If anyone dares imply that part should skipped, they'll be Hades to pay!

Dungeon and Hexcrawls.

Finally, downtime.

Downtime is what I consider "roleplay" time. Dungeons and Hexcrawls are what I consider "adventure" time (come on, grab your friends).

Deduction.

The electric spark that passes between players as they piece together the clues and work out what has been going on (and just how screwed they are).

I love it all, but I have the most fun when I can immerse myself into my character and interact with weird stuff in the game world, like strange magic nodes, tricks, traps, portals, mysterious items, interesting terrain and hazards, puzzles, etc. Add combat, or interaction, or both to that and then the fun ramps up.

But, most of all, the fun is interacting with other players and the DM. The social aspect is awesome. Some of my best friends are people I’ve played with for years.
