D&D 5E What are the ways of making attacks targeting you have disadvantage?

So I read up on the Shifter race in ERftlW and saw that Wildhunt Shifters, while shifted advantage on attack rolls within 30ft of them are ignored so what are the best ways of getting disadvantage on attack rolls against the shifter? The most I can think of is Blur, or the Steel Defender’s reaction ability.

The Protection fighting style for Fighters and Paladins allow them to impose disadvantage - the Steel Defender's power is modeled on this.

Cast darkness around yourself, or get someone to cast it on you.

You attacking the enemy --> Disadvantage (you can't see them) + advantage (they can't see you) = normal attack.
Enemy attacking you --> Disadvantage (they can't see you) + no advantage (shifter negates) = disadvantage.

It's a low-grade version of the warlock's Devil's Sight/darkness combo. Obviously, it's not as good since you don't get advantage on your own attacks.

Help yourself. Use a help action to give yourself (a friendly creature) advantage on your next attack by throwing sand in your opponent's face, maneuvering in the direction of its wounded leg, hopping up on the nearby table, or "feint, distract the target." The action says "before your next turn," but all you're doing is paying with one attack (by converting it into a Help) to get advantage on the next.

Also, anything situational/environmental that makes the attacker's job more difficult causes Disadvantage, so just find an excuse and nudge the DM.

No flips for you!
The problem with this is that the active player determines order of simultaneous effect. Your foe, in other words, could choose to order the advantage effect first, cancelling disadvantage, and then apply the shifter effect which is now moot.

This is valid because the rule states a creature within 30' can't make an attack roll with advantage on you, and they aren't, having cancelled advantage against the disadvantage effect. The ability is still very strong as nothing attacks you with advantage, but it also means that you can't auto-force disadvantage.
