D&D 5E What is WotC working on now?

I take this back. I was just rereading some of Mearls' answers from last month's Reddit AMA, and he makes a bunch of comments that sound like they are working on actual content conversion guides for updating older edition material to the 5e rules.

To whit:

So probably something that will be rolling out in the new articles that were revealed...that's not a bad thing. Unless they decided to release them on their own, still not a bad thing!

Core rulebooks are out, what's next?

Now that the main 3 rulebooks are out, what's next for D&D?

How do they plan to support the rules going forward?

What's going on with the novels?

What's going on with the campaign settings?

What's going on with Dungeon and Dragon mags?

As I understand it, WotC are going to celebrate the greater-than-expected success of 5e by getting a giant pool installed, in which they're going to pour all the money they've made. And then they're going to swim in it, Scrooge McDuck-style.

Unfortunately, I don't have any serious answers. As far as I know, nothing solid has been announced.

I don't think a whole lot has been said. We probably won't know much more until January. All i do know is that the rollout of official books will be drastically slower than 2nd/3rd/4th edition with the emphasis put on books, games and films to generate revenue.

This. Wizards have been repeating again and again that the release schedule will be much sparser than in the past. I don't think that's "just" talk, they clearly intend to slow the pace of new releases.

I'm glad for that tactic actually. The slower release schedule. Very glad. And if it seems *too* slow there will still be 3rd party support to supplement it.

Maybe this can be merged with this thread:

We have had quite a few of these over the months...but maybe two can be combined.
