D&D 5E Which classes will you play first?

Going to try this again. Forgive me if I do it wrong again; I've done polls before but for some reason I failed last time.

Which class do you plan to play first? I've put all the subclasses in there, and you can select up to four, but only do so if you intend to multiclass; for the warlock I also added pact options, so you can select both a pact and patron.

My first thought was "play? I'm a perma-DM, I never get to play."
Then I realized I'm at GenCon in a couple days and scheduled for multiple delves. So I do get to play! And I have no idea what I want to play....

5E is missing Cavalier and Acrobat -- how can I have a proper adventure in the land of Dungeons & Dragons?

I'm DMing the only 5e game I'm in currently, but I might get another group into it where I get to play. A multiclass berserker barbarian/vengeance paladin of Tempus sounds like fun.

Thief rogue looks pretty good to me. Battlemaster fighter is also something I'll probably try early on, but that one will be DM dependant for me: how often do I get a short rest?

Normally the first character I play in any version of D&D is an elf ranger. On my first read through of the 5e ranger though, nothing at all jumped out at me as fun or interesting. I'll have to give it another read, to see if there's something neat hidden in there that I'll like.

Just last night I made a cleric of life (so that got my vote), but I am getting ready to give the thief and the assassin a pretty close look.

I'm in the same boat. Signed up for several 5e sessions, and I'll likely get to play more at GenCon than I have on the last several years! Love to DM, but it will be great on the other side of the screen!

I don't think it will let me, though if an admin can do it, I'd be ok with that. My intention anyway was to get an early glimpse at what people are thinking before they start playing, and there are lots of WPN stores out there. And even if you don't have it yet, there's a lot of information on these forums about each subclass. Maybe I"ll do another one later when the Amazon orders and such arrive.
