I was reading the "Who games in what language?" thread and saw Horacio's kid peeking out of his avatar picture and it got me thinking about our hobby and our progeny.

I wondered if it is being passed along within the families of the many gamers that have kids, friends with kids, younger cousins, nieces/nephews, and even grandchildren.

I've got three nephews who I picked up some dice and an intro set for this last holiday but they're more into PC games at this time. They span from 16 to 10, with a twelve year old in the middle and are all boys.

Not sure if they will ever get into gaming with pen and paper RPGs but I was wondering about the rest of EN Worlders... :)

As you've seem in my avatar, my daughter, Noemi, is too young to play (ey, you haven't put that option in the poll! ;) ), but I hope she will play as soon as possible.

To encourage her, as you can also see in my avatar (or in her photo gallery), she already has a plush dragon, and a small cute Plush Cthulhu Spawn...

my son's a little young, but i just started reading him an illustrated copy of the hobbit. he loves it so far. it's so cool to hear him ask "where did gandalf go?...when are they going to get the dragon".

in a few years we'll be doing some simple adventures together with mom. :)

my daughter is still a while away - she's only 5 months.

Well I have a 3-year old and a 3-month old.
I hope both the boys game when they are old enough.
I was DMing my sister when she was 5 and I was 17 along with a couple of other players and she did very well. She played that same character for 5 years or more.

I have 3 kids (steps have been taken to prevent them being more... Ouch!) and all are a little young to play...

However the eldest 2 (Rhiannon 6, Joe 3) are itching to start roleplaying soon and keep harrassing me about it. I'll probably wait until Joe is a little older (Meaning - actually has an attention span) until I start them playing though.

Our youngest (Molly 18 months) does a mean Dragons roar when provoked.

Um "none of the above"?

I have a 5 yo (soon to be six) who is really interested in what we do, but I honestly don't want her to play before I feel she has enough judgement to sort out the morals of what goes on in the game and what goes on in real life. I told her she could play when she was 10.

I have a 11 month old, too, but we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

My daughter is just six, so she hasn't played yet. She knows what role-playing is, though, and she says that when she does play, she wants to play a karate-fighting ballerina. LOL!

I guess I should mention she's a fan of the Power Puff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Barbie. ;)

need a abother poll choice :)

Charlie, three, loves to play with dice and likes Chutes and Ladders and Candyland, as well as playing with Mage Knight figures(He likes them better than my metal minis, thank goodness.

OTOH, Sophia, three months old, doesn't do anything gaming-related yet. We're taking her to a specialist soon, so hopefully we can figure out why quickly and get the problem corrected before she falls too far behind.;)

I have three kids, 2 boys (10 & 6) and a girl (13). My daughter thinks we're all retards, but me and my boys have been playing together lately. Of course it is all hack-n-slash to them, but hey, that's how we all started, right? It is kind of hard with the 6 year old since he only reads so much... that and he always gets the d10 and d8 mixed up! We have fun...:D

For my daughter the worse punishment is taking away her computer and roleplaying privileges. It is lot worst to her then being restricted from watching tv.

But that is only going to work for another year. Then she is off to collage and we lose a good player. :(
