Sharks can fly out of the sun as long as they keep moving, otherwise they die.

Unless they've been fitted with bubble helmets that automatically circulate water through their gills... Of course, that'd negate the lethality of their rows upon rows razor-sharp teeth, but that hardly matters if you take the time to mount laser guns on the bubble helmets.

I saw a sitcom recently where they made fun of just this.

Ref: "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS. While not stellar, it's kinda cute, and there are some funny geek-isms.
