Why Knock Someone Prone Anymore?

Uhm, they have to be fairly high up for knocking a flyer prone to have any impact, thanks to this bit from the description of prone PHB p277:

"You’re lying on the ground. (If you’re flying, you safely
descend a distance equal to your fly speed. If you
don’t reach the ground, you fall.)"

So as long as you don't soar much higher than one move above the ground, you're safe...

Since most power ranges max out at 20 squares, then at most its 80 feat of falling damage, i.e. 8d10 (Fly 4 squares is the slowest I could find quickly) and likely only 5d10 against some of the faster fliers. If they have training in acrobatics, then this damage can often be reduced to trivial quantities.
