Recognition of his current state came flooding back to Nalkyr, the same way sensation might return to a limb that had fallen asleep. Metaphysical, uncomfortable pins and needles. The young eladrin realized with no small amount of distress, that he was bleeding.

And realized, too, who was responsible for it.

Nalkyr waded forward, feyblades flashing and diving for the thing.

[sblock=Actions]
Move: Z17
Standard: Twin Strike
Minor: Off-Hand Strike
[/sblock]

OOC: 12 Damage from Crit Off-Hand. Missed on both Twin Strikes, though. A shame.

Trapped by the plant creatures and bleeding, El Chupacabra fights to remove itself from the hundreds of thorny branches. He manages to do that, but now wothout damage. It's now hurt, the plants are no fun anymore, and he wants to be alone.

OOC: I'm on my last legs, and the swarms are particulary tough. Supposing we can revive everyone and kill the dryad this turn, is there any particular reason we have to kill the swarms, now that the thing in the tree is dead?

OOC: Nalkyr's second twin strike should have hit with the 17, since the dryad was granting CA. Not sure what to do about the swarms- maybe kite them with missile attacks? It will take a long time, but since we have +speed and ignore DT, we ought to be able to spread out and use ranged attacks- if the swarms try to move in response, their target can move away as the others continue to attack. Dryad first, though.

Lenyara moved around to get a better angle of attack. Then she shifted back into human form and rushed in, both weapons spinning in deadly arcs. The dryad, badly wounded now, stumbled to the ground again as Lenyara danced away.

>Free: Dual weapon attack at dryad; 1d20+11= 25 (hit for 9 more damage, and dryad is knocked prone if not already still prone); rolls http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3336617/

GM: You need to harvest some (non-demonic) mistletoe from the large tree. That's going to take sufficient time that you don't want swarms of things with a climb speed hanging around to try to kill you.

Yes, the swarms are tough, probably the toughest monsters you'd expect to fight at level 1 (level 5 brutes). You happened to choose the hardest of the three tasks first, which is a good thing I suppose since it means you have most of your resources to bring to the fight.

OOC: I was talking about general strategy here. The swarms aren't probably masterminds, the thing in the tree looked like it was. Perhaps we can lure them away while harvesting the mistletoe, perhaps if we leave and come back later the swarms will be gone, or what keeps the swarms together was the thing, and now that it's dead they'll disperse on their own. Or pehaps we'll have no choice but to kill them, but I believe we're reaching a point where we should be considering alternatives

OOC: @pathfinderq1, @Pliantreality, actually Adnasia is dead so you don't have to roll damage for your other Twin Strike and Lenyara can go attack a swarm.

Caim circles around her blind prey. This is it. Caim cuts loose with a fierce blow- no psychic assault this time, just furious violence. The strike connects with a sickening crack, and the dryad collapses like a felled tree. Caim sneers at the corpse, starts to quip to Nalkyr, and then holds off- he still looks shaken by his experience.
