I've loved Worldographer (was a KS backer) for years.
It's powerful. The multi-layer function really works (but make certain to give it plenty of ram).

It's for all those hex-crawl games... the tewaking to world gen is also great - it's a great start to build worlds from, or to redraw existing hex-maps.
