YOUR IDEAS FOR STAR WARS CELESTIALS: No Idea Is Too Outrageous

Celestial universe: a.k.a Reality Just Got Real.

As their senses expand to cover their new selves the boundaries of what they thought of as senses vanish. Nothing is invisible to them. They can look into their own bodies and see the particles that form them, in this dimension and in all of the others. You can freely have the being with the voice kill them in the supernova sky world. Only a small part of their whole self is there, and killing the part of them in that world is like someone trimming your fingernail.

In the Celestial universe they see the being with the voice. It is a dark blob bound with light. It has no Force Ghost in the shadow lands. It only seems to see into the supernova sky world, and doesn't seem to be aware of just how aware the characters now are. If it is allowed to continue it will finish the kill and settle down in the Celestial universe, thinking it has killed the characters. If the characters talk to it it will react to them as they reacted to it when it first spoke to them. The characters are now The Voice to it. It can't see them here, or interact with them physically.

The dimensions that the characters now exist in:
1. 'Reality'. This is their home dimension, but they now see the whole spectrum down to the sub-atomic.
2. Shadow Lands. Dimension of the Force Ghosts.
3. Supernova Sky. Exploring this world the characters will come to the conclusion it seems to be a Celestial trash basket, filled with everything they didn't want or need. Extensively exploring it will even reveal parts of planets and stars and other space objects floating around as sort of clippings from unfinished works.
4. A strange dimension of energy filled with lay lines and interlocking grids of light. Looking at themselves here they will see that they resemble the opponents from memory they just earlier fought.
5. The Celestial Universe.

The Celestials didn't escape the reality they were born in because Rakata or others threatened them. No. They simply retreated out of it the way you leave your womb. They've forgotten that reality even exists. They forgot their artifacts, they forgot about the other races they used to interact with, they even forgot that they left the last of the Force Dimension generators lying around in far space. They moved on and built a new universe to live in. This is the place the characters can now see. Where they now are.

Here's another spot where I'm stumped. This would be an excellent place to begin describing what the Celestials are like. Only thing I've got so far is that if you want to include still living Celestials and there would be conflict between them and the characters, I think defeating the Celestials would have to happen on a multidimensional level. That is, it wouldn't be enough to beat them on their own dimension, they have branches of themselves in others.

This stuff is magnificent, jonesey! It's just the kind of bizarre, out-of-this-world storytelling I'm going for.

Now they're on the Celestials' "doorstep," as you put it. I'm eager to hear your vision of what follows...!

Here's an attempt at creating some history:

"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

A group of beings who would much later be dubbed the Architects, and even later the Celestials, became obsessed from a very young age of their existance with what lay behind the scenes of the universe. They searched far and wide for answers. They looked deep into matter. They scoured the reality they had been born into, looked behind every nook and cranny, and learned to disassemble and reassemble whatever aspect of matter or energy they got their hands on. Then they found the Force. Or the Force found them.

They found themselves cursed with the ability to resist it. To utilize the Force the Architects first had to learn something that had never even occurred to them before. They had to learn how to be vulnerable..

As their research into the Force progressed, so did their resistance to it wane. Before they realized what was happening did the Dark Side begin to seep in. But all their existance they had been obsessed with discovering the true nature the universe and so they could not simply stop. It was not in their nature. They looked deeper and deeper into the Force until finally they themselves began merging into it. What many species later would learn to do after death did the Architects become without. Somehow they became chained to both sides of the Force. And so the Celestials were born. Existing half in the Shadowlands where Ghosts of Force roam before reaching their final destinations in the Force Dimension, and half in the reality they still called their home, they discovered a problem.

Their half existance in two dimensions at the same time was preventing them from getting out of the limbo that the Shadowlands seemed to be. Still wanting to continue their research further, farther, and higher into the order of being, they began a construction project other species might have called arrogant, but which to them was merely a natural extension of talents honed all throughout their lives. They began building steps into the dimension of Force.

First they forced their way out of the Shadowlands into a dimension of pure chaos. Slowly over aeons they tamed this place where old laws of physics had little relevance and used the matter within it to build a place one step higher from it. The dimension of chaos would later end up being nothing but a trash basket of partially finished projects, under a vast concave hallowed out supernova.

The next dimension they built was a network of roots for something beyond it. This they called the Luminous Universe, filled with highly energetic physics, a universe-wide power system to power something much grander.

The grand design would be their new home, the Celestial Universe. In here would they finally be in a position to create a system for breaking into the Force Dimension. Or what they perceived that to be. But the much too intimate connection to Force had perverted their nature and they found that the Shadowlands still pulled at them, preventing access to higher dimensions and the true source of Force. The same source that kept pushing them away from itself. They would have to build something here that even their own elders would consider arrogant and extravagant."

Descriptions:

The Shadowlands appear as a meadow under a moonlit sky, but there are quite a number of moons in the hazy sky casting down their own brand of reflected light. The meadow is in the middle of an infinite plain (also, infinite plane) of hills and valleys and faraway mountains of strange proportions. It is connected to all worlds and beings sensitive to the Force. Were one to reach this plane of existance and then to lose their existance in the others, one would be able to travel between these worlds through the Shadowlands. But not for long, because the moment the Shadowlands were to become your only home dimension would the Force begin to beckon you into its own dimension.

The Luminous Universe, the place of networks of energy and laylines and grids of light, is the power source for the Celestial Universe. Here the characters might find a way to undermine the sources of Celestial power should they seek to defeat them, or to tap into that power themselves. This is a highly difficult universe to navigate as the intense brightness obstructs visibility almost to the same extent as pure darkness would.

Supernova Sky, being the primary source of material and energy for the Luminous and Celestial universes, contains within it backdoors into hidden areas in both.

The Celestial Universe is a place where planets are used like LEGOs, where a 'room' might be as large as a solar system, where transport between locations is done by comets and through black holes slaved into a transport grid. Stars are lined in rows like landing lights on an airport. And nothing is made of a sphere shape.

The rest really depends on what type of end you envision for the campaign. Are the characters to have a gigantic battle against the Celestials? Are the Celestials redeemable? Is there a third door? What can the characters do? What do they want to do? All sorts of little things dependant on what you were planning.

I guess ultimately, what I'm planning is for the characters to "ascend" and become Celestials themselves, or be offered the opportunity to live among the Celestials...a triumphant end story for the characters.
