One more for today. Here's a glimpse of the Venetian Martial Arts Careers.

KAYESH [ka-`yesh] DOMINION (Daybreak) [1d6 years]
You’ve been trained to find the advantage in a disadvantageous position and make the most of your unarmed attacks.

Prerequisites: martial arts, teleportation

Attributes: STR +1, AGI +1, END +1, PSI +1

Skill choices: martial arts, reactions, jumping, meditation, hardy, running

Exploits
Ascendancy Stances (requires PSI 10). Choose one Stance from the Dominion’s traditions: Lunab (Dawn), Kapeya (Air), or Retsush (Earth).

Spatial Tug (requires PSI 10; Dimensional Step). Once per round you can, as an action, make a PSI vs DEFENSE attack against a single creature, size medium or smaller, within 20’ of you. If successful, the target is teleported to melee range with a -10 DEFENSE penalty due to disorientation.

Unhindered Charge. When making an attack, you use the objects of your surroundings to aid you. You’re able to climb, run, and/or leap up to your speed across any terrain and then attack at the end. You pay 2d6 and must move at least 10’ to gain +1d6 damage. You suffer no penalties for difficult terrain.

Enhanced Attributes. You gain +2 SPEED and +5’ to both horizontal and vertical jump distances.

Reactive Strike. Once per turn, after a melee attack misses you, you automatically make a reactive attack.

Driven Fists. On a successful unarmed attack you follow through with a second unarmed attack. This counts as one action and you may not add additional exploits to these attacks.

While I wait on my Surface to play the Update game, here's a peek at a couple of new Venetian Careers.

VENETIAN MERCHANT (1d6 years)
The Venetian Merchant deals in goods produced by residents of Chunti and neighboring communities. Commerce along the galactic merchant routes generates a steady revenue for the cities and towns that crowd the Venetian temples. But, for the Venetians who find themselves among the merchant trade, its not the riches that keep them there. For many, it's the seduction of adventure, new places, and the quiet solitude of open space from one port to the next.

The Venetian Merchant is unlike any Venetian the weary trader has ever crossed paths with before. Travel among the diverse crush of galactic marketplaces has brightened the typical Venetian solemnity, burnishing it to a boisterous, good-natured shine. The merchant still wears the garb and sash of the Ruk Threik Lungach, the Merchant’s Cooperative, and does his best to preserve the principles of that Order. But, it’s often a struggle and, eventually, he succumbs and becomes his own person, altering his clothes and living space to better suit his new tastes.

VENETIAN RANGER (1d6 years)
The Venetian Ranger protects Vendalyr and its many colonies and outposts from threats both foreign and domestic. She is both investigator and bounty hunter, granted jurisdiction by the members of the Seniority. The Ranger is entrusted with absolute authority to pursue justice quickly and by whatever means she sees as necessary. This often leads her along the narrow line between authorization and abuse of power, but its on her to keep her footing more along authority. Rangers that step too far to the other side soon find themselves sitting before the Order of Inquiry.
