I suck at making up names.

I need names for various countries/realms, and a leader or two for each:

Kobolds,
Lizardfolk,
Halflings,
Dwarves,
Halflings,
Ogres,
Frost Giants,
Trolls.

Any ideas?

That's right, you can get a bunch of names from the people who brought us Drawmij, Ekul, Ulek, Erelhei-Cinlu, Keoghtom, Jehef Peh'reen, Yrag, Xagyg, Zagyg, Zagy, Zagig, Xagig, Xagy, Yagrax....

These days I'm partial to translated names... or at the very least odd names that are easier on the tongue... I like what you can do with actual words/names and shameless use of alliteration and assonance...

... although I have to confess, my parents were absolutely shocking at names.

Mue, the Magic-User (Elven).
Mute, the Magic-User / Thief (Elven).
Chlume, the Magic-User / Cleric (Half-Elven).
Gilth, the Illusionist / Thief (Gnomish).

... you get the idea.

And then there's my father's series of Rangers over the years: Zyn, Zan, Zig...

I figured that would stump someone. It's an amalgam of Nyr Dyv, and Hylar Clan dwarves from Dragonlance. It just popped in my head and sounded cool.

Oh, I know - but you brought up the "Old School" naming, so...

Interesting aside... Gary had a whole string of PC's named things like Rigby, Digby, Zigby, Bigby, Pigby, etc. Because according to him at a seminar back in '99, Rob Kuntz wouldn't let him name his own characters, and named them for him in a display of love and humiliation.
