This is something I wonder about a lot re: the internet. It's a given that on a site like, say, Wikipedia, the people who contribute to it are an order of magnitude fewer in number compared to the number of people who use it. ENWorld, and by extension other BBs like the WotC board, are a similar deal. I'm wondering how well the opinions voiced by posters here can be taken to represent the population of gamers as a whole.
Obviously, this is going to be a rough sketch and horrendously flawed. Also, I'm no statistician, so this may be a total waste of time.
RULES
Next time you get together with your group(s), find out if they're a REGISTERED USERS at Enworld. You can only vote once, so ask however many people you want. And try to keep them from doing the same thing, eh? That's guaranteed to fudge this up.
If you don't think you've been included in someone else's count, include yourself.
When you vote, please post your sample size.
Oh, and if there's any mathfolk out there that can point out some gaping flaws in this, feel free to punch me through them.
