I don't get it. Are you responding to your OWN link? (Which is funny and in the spirit of Statler and Waldorf, as they made fun of their own show)

Or are you responding to the comments, which is 1) ironic because you cared enough to find the video and post it, 2) hilarious because you made the topic, thus showing that you obviously cared a lot about other people's comments, and 3) completely insulting and rude.

Um, ProfessorCirno, how come you don't take issue with the fact that the video ALSO portrays 4e supporters as sycophants and basically boot lickers?

Really, the video savages both sides...

I take issue, just less issue, as that one doesn't insult me ;p

Insulting one side isn't allowed. Insulting BOTH sides aren't allowed, either.

I think making fun of extremes is actually something that should be engaged in more often.

Loved the video, too.

Prediction for this thread: dozens of people will whine about being portrayed as trolls. No one will whine about being portrayed as a sycophant, except to satirize the people whining about being portrayed as trolls.

I can't even imagine identifying with either of those (as you said, extreme) positions. Boggles the mind...

ps - ProfessorCirno, take the Statler & Waldorf in whatever way is funniest for you. :)

Well it probably should be if it was clearly labeled humor. i personally wouldn't object to a thread titled "you're probably a $e hater if you..." if immediately followed by a "you're probably a 4e lovah if you..."

Maybe if only 4e haters could post in the haters thread and lovers in the lovers thread? self-irony and all that...

But i have to say it was brave of wotc to show this cartoon. Someone was obviously fed up with the critique of their work:) i'll bet ya it takes them about 1 day or so to send out a statement that it was meant as a joke and any offence was unintentional etc...

I'm offended by the notion of being portrayed as just an XP-grubbing one breath shot poorly animated freak.

...;)

On the troll, I thought it was an amusing jibe at a certain demographic (obviously not everyone who dislikes 4e), but at the same time went on a bit longer than I would've liked. The comedic timing felt off to the point of feeling like they were going, "It's a troll! Get it? It's a troll!"

And we all roll our eyes and say, "Yes, Uncle/Grandpa/Aunt/whoever, we get it." But I'm a jerk about comedy, so take things with salt and my 2 coppers.

Plat under the table?

Some people just can't laugh about extremes, themselves, minorities, majorities or anything else.

But I have yet to figure out whether I can laugh about this animation, since I don't have sound here! :)

But I firmly believe: "It's Humor if you laugh anyway".
Feel free to deeply analyze or critisize a joke after you have had your laugh. Never before.

Poop jokes, seriously? I'm not going to say it should be highbrow, but they should at least keep it above the belt.

How many lives does that interviwer have? He's been:
* pertified (beholder)
* eaten (mind flyer)
* burned to ash (tiefling)
* burned like a crispy chicken on a stick then eaten (red dragon)

I'm guessing he's the DM's pet NPC that just keeps getting rescued and ress-ed ;)

It's all good.
