[Boardgame]Anybody out there still play RoboRally?

Just wondering if there's any RoboRally players left out there...one of the better boardgames you'll ever find, if you can find it at all (WotC took it out of print some years ago; someone else has picked it up and re-released it but the distribution's not as good).

No. We've got it, but after a while the randomness turned me off it. I loved it when it first came out years ago, but I prefer other games now.

Cheers!

Even though I haven't played in a while, I love it!

I have at least 2 basic sets (possibly 3), plus most of the expansions, and that means games can get very interesting and involved.

We've tried several layouts- the basic 4 panel box, a 5 panel with one in the middle surrounded by 4 others, or even 3 (or more) laying end-to-end in a "drag race" arrangement.

And since almost everyone in my game group is 30+ years old, sometimes, game night involves drinking...which means that sometimes cards don't get put in the right order, and truly unintentional hilarity ensues.

That "someone else" who picked up and re-released RoboRally was Avalon Hill... which is (and was at the time) owned by Wizards.

Sadly, Roborally's one of those things that's better in my memories for me. You're far from alone, though, as it's in the top 100 on boardgame geek, with a very respectable 7.38 rating (to put that in context, the highest rated game on BGG, Puerto Rico, is an 8.29).

I don't know if it's still in print, but it is still readily available online and at any well-stocked game store.

I bring it out for my students once a year; they enjoy it a bunch. Its also fun to implement in code as another project.

I agree it can get a little "twonky", but sometimes thats the appeal. :)

I always wondered if anyone had done a Flash version of that, or an online version? Seems that it would be a perfect sort of game for that kind of thing.
