The Sleep spell doesn't give you the sleep condition though. It magically makes you unconcious, and the only way to become concious is to make your save.
 


A shout wake up a character is affected by sleep spell on 4E?
Sure can, but not not just casual (free action) bellowing... you have to get up close and really shout. This is an untrained Heal check requiring a standard action:

Grant a Saving Throw: Make a DC 15 Heal check. If you succeed, an adjacent ally can immediately make a saving throw, or the ally gets a +2 bonus to a saving throw at the end of his or her next turn.

Those trained in Heal know that shouting isn't the only course of action.
