Gamer opinion on RPG comics

First Post
Hello all. I just launched my new webcomic http://www.enworld.org/forum/publishers-press-releases/253571-launch-new-rpg-fantasy-webcomic.html

The site is at Familiar Ground

I need some opinions.

So far, the only suggestions I've had were from other webcomic creators and a close circle of friends, so I want to question the general gaming community.

What do you look for in a gamer comic?

Engaging story?
Application of story elements to your own games?
Unique characters?
Great art?
Humor?
Drama?
All of the above?

I enjoy creating my strip. I have a story that I want to tell, with characters that I've created. However, there is still a lot of wiggle room regarding the delivery and content of that story, and I want to make it as accessible to as many people as possible.

What do you look for in a RPG-centric comic?

Initial thought:

I enjoy occasional inside gamer jokes, but I'd prefer not to be constantly barraged by them (Order of the Stick already does that).

Heh. My thoughts exactly. So far, I've managed to stay away from actually making references to any game rules in the comics.

The only Fantasy web comic I currently read is Order of the Stick. I like DM of the Rings a lot, but that was kind of different.

I am going to start Girl Genius and I recently discovered Dire Destiny. I'll get on those sometime soon too.

Also I just found out about Looking for Group.

I am kinda a webcomic newbie, but there's not much out there that I know about. I'll check yours out as well.

Girl Genius is great!

My only recommendation though is not to read it late at night.

You'll be engrossed in reading and before you realize it, it's already 4am.

Happened to me. It's really good.

Off to a decent start, so I have subscribed to the rss feed.

The only real advice I could give is to try and find your own voice, try not to be a clone of another comic.

Phaezen

Good advice and one that I'm heeding (I hope).

At least I don't know of any other fantasy gamer style comics similar to mine.

Thanks.

Don't have a evil-but-comic character, like Black Mage(or Richards).

Humor is good, but do it right, or don't do it. Bad humor is worse than none.

Update as often as you can, if it's good, you must deliver the fix for your junkies.

And find your own voice.
