I remember when I began playing AD&D 2e when I was 10 realising my elementry mathmatics were becoming much much faster. It got my writing a lot more than I likely would have.

The kids today getting really into MMO's and CCG's are likely getting a new range of benefits.

Actually, that just brought back some vague memory from primary school, when I was 10 or so. IIRC, the teacher proposed playing Red Box in the "gifted" class. But I don't remember actually playing in class; it was the early 80's in small town America, so maybe the witch-hunters in the community put a stop to it!

Maybe not directly, but DND made me the imaginative person I am today. And trait has helped me overcome any problems that have cropped up in real life.

I <3 DND...

Well, I learned English by reading the AD&D books.

At one time my English teacher wondered where I knew all those odd words from... :D

I didn't learn it specifically from D&D, but from what grew out of my roleplaying in general:

"Being serious brings boredom. Being crazy brings enlightenment."
