Multiple Simultaneous Free Actions?

Let's say you have two independent special abilities that can modify a spell you cast and each requires a free action to activate.

I know there is no cast-in-stone limit to the number of free actions you can take in a round, but can you use two free actions simultaneously with casting a spell (especially if the simultaneous free actions are affecting the spell)?

Wouldn't that be the equivalent of doing three things at the same time? (casting the spell, and then 2x free actions)

Three free actions per round is a limit I've seen other people put forth fairly often, iirc.

Are you sure it's free, not swift or immediate?

If you are the player I'd ask the DM, if not....

Personally, as a DM i'd see what the changes are, then see if there was any game logical reason why it wouldn't be allowed (game balance probably the biggie here). I may require a concentration check that a PC is likely to make at a certain level (but any self respecting full caster should be near max points of concentration anyway).

You can already do a couple of things simultaneously anyway (move, drop a weapon, draw a weapon, and yell warning, granted it is not a spell)

Yeah, what these changes are could be a big deal. And WHY this has to be simultaneous is worth wondering about.

I'd like to know what the special abilities are, but given the information you've provided, I don't see any reason why not.

Spin Fate and Seal Fate from the Fatespinner prestige class. Both are free actions to modify the DC of the save and the saving throw of the target. Combined that's up to a -15 swing...

I don't see any problem using these "simultaneously."

And actually, it's pretty clear that Seal Fate isn't done simultaneously with spellcasting, anyway. You don't even have to cast a spell at the target. You just look at him. So even if there was some problem with doing two free actions simultaneously, you could just say: "Fine, I look at him (active Spot check = move action) and seal his fate (free action), then cast my spell (standard action) as I spin fate (free action)."
