Heroscape bases to be sized for D&D

I just read a blog update for the next wave of Heroscapers - truth D&D heroscape figures that might be interesting to others.

Essentially getting a really cool Iron Golem and some small dragons but more importantly than that the bases have been resized so that they work with the D&D square grid.

It might be of interest to include these expansions in the list of D&D products coming out this year. Also mentioned is further D&D expansions. This might be the way that WoTC are going to take D&D miniatures going forward.

I didn't see this posted as a separate thread and I thought it was a big enough deal to get it's own. I hope this pans out, and if it does I'd like to thank those who changed it.

Edit: A direct link to the article that talks about the new base sizes.

Nice. I've gathered some HS minis in the past for RPG games and making them more readily useful sounds good to me. :)

The article says that reprints won't have the smaller bases, so I'm not sure it's clear that any new sets will, but your probably correct.

So let me ask for the reprints to get the smaller bases!

I've never tried re-basing any HS figs. Have you tried it and, if so, how well does it work out? I've routinely re-based MK figs fairly easily and struggled to do so with some Dreamblade figs.

Here are two reasons why I can't:

1: Some of the stances of older figures would not fit on smaller bases.
2: There are Heroscape gameplay issues with the same figure having a different base (namely, line-of-sight) and I don't want the same figure to play two different ways because of the size of the base.

Thanks for the info.
