[Adventure] Marna is Missing (DM: pacdidj, Judge: renau1g)

[sblock=rest]If we hear shuffling coming towards us, I'm thinking we don't have time to rest. However, since we're apparently not in combat yet...

Jezebel uses a second wind! 30/37 hp, 8/12 surges. And uh, I suppose she gets the +2 defenses bonus for a round (but we're not in combat).

Also, history 20. I know the crap out of that![/sblock]Jezebel notices the elf-bones shortly before the trap goes off. "Eladrin, huh? That makes more sense than shifters. The elves often built tombs here before their people were slaughtered in the Shadowrift incident. Which of the elements is this tomb dedicated to, I wonder?"

She dives for cover as the ceiling falls in, but one rock hits her particularly hard in the head. The tiefling once again curses the fact that she could not find a helmet with horn-holes that fit the rest of her black-plate color scheme. Jezebel picks herself up, shakes off the dust, and prepares her armaments.

"They are coming."

[sblock=Resting/Healing] I think its wise to wait and see if we are close to a combat before I use my Healing words... if I don't have 5 minutes to recharge, better off just spending surges (if out of combat atm)[/sblock]

The party pauses for a moment to tend their wounds, listening and waiting for the shuffling sounds to draw nearer... but they don't. The shuffling and scraping emanating from the northern archway does intensify briefly however, and at one point the sounds are punctuated by a couple of bone-chilling moans. But then all is silent, and after a few minutes of waiting nothing has come around the corner.

[sblock=Tracking]I'm assuming Cyr will spend a surge to bring himself back to 24/26 HP, so here's what I've got for tracking now:

Surges:
Alnar - 2/8
Cyr - 4/7
Ferris - 3/8
Jezebel - 8/12
Sir X610 - 9/13

Action Points:
Alnar - 1
Cyr - 1
Ferris - 2
Jezebel - 1
Sir X610 - 2

Dailies Used:
Alnar - Ice Javelins, Majestic Word, Inspiring Fortitude
Cyr - Staff of the War Mage[/sblock]

Same map as last update.

SIR EXSIXTEN IS FINALLY CONVINCED THAT THE WALLS WILL NOT ATTEMPT ANOTHER FUTILE ASSAULT, Sir Exsixten "thinks", starting to put his axe away. BUT WHAT'S THIS? STRANGE MOANS FADING FROM AROUND THE NEXT CORNER.

COME CITIZENS, THE EXECRABLE ENEMY LURKS IN MOANING ANTICIPATION FOR BATTLE, Sir Exsixten booms, advancing around the corner. LET US NOT KEEP THEM WAITING!

[sblock=OOC]Must have been a busy weekend for everyone else too. I only had a few minutes a day to check on ENWorld since Friday. Speaking of, off to my second job...[/sblock]

[sblock=Hello?]Just checking to see if everyone is still here, and how you'd like to proceed. Does everyone want to follow Sir Exsixten into the northern corridor? If so, charge in, or proceed cautiously? If not, any other ideas?[/sblock]

We better see what those noises are coming from that direction, says Alnar. Be careful through, there could be more traps.

[sblock=ooc]
Sorry, for some reason I assumed we were going to check out the noises.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Likewise, I figured we were following Sir Exsixten into certain doom.[/sblock]
Jezebel advances around the corridor closely behind the warforged.

Rounding the corner through the northern archway, following Sir Exsixten's lead, the party is assailed by a near-overpowering stench. The flickering light of a single torch some 40 feet away, reveals a long, wide corridor, lined with stacks of Eladrin skulls neatly arranged from floor to ceiling along the walls. Five intact, and very well preserved skeletons are scattered about the corridor, and look to have been reanimated until very recently. One particularly gruesome skeleton, wrapped in the tatters of its own skin still twitches with the remains of its unnaturally-restored volition and mobility.

The skeletons are not the source of the odor, however. It is instead the shadows themselves, tendrils of which swarm around the redeceased undead as though feeding on the remains of their false life force, that seem to be emitting the stench. The shadows react slowly to your entrance, having apparently been unable to sense your arrival till now. Following Sir Exsixten's brash advance has granted you precious seconds in which to act!

[sblock=Initiatives please!]The party has a surprise round in which to act. After that whichever side has the highest initiative roll will act first.[/sblock]

[sblock=Enemy stats]Rotshadow Tendril - AC: 16; Fort: 13, Ref: 14, Will: 13[/sblock]
