(I've already cross-posted this at rpg.net, so ignore this if you've already read it there.)

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I can finally come out from under the cone of silence about the new D&D movie subtitled BOOK OF VILE DARKNESS I've been involved with for more than a year. You can read a little more and find out about the official contest to be a part of the film here:

In what capacity are you working on the film? Can you give us a bit more about it?

Will it be like the second or better?

Is Bruce Payne/Damodar going to be in this movie as well?

He might have died in Wrath of the Dragon God, I can't remember. However, that should easily be redeemed. Also, IIRC Wrath of the Dragon God had the lich character Klaxx the Maligned who would easily be a recurring villain. OTOH, I see them just as easily ignoring the past.

Cross-posted from rpg.net:

I was a story consultant (I've written for Sam Raimi on HERC & XENA, plus did some producing work on the new TRANSFORMERS and STAR TREK films, among other things) and I acted as a game consultant to help make sure the story elements fit into the current edition (been playing since 1979 and writing published game products since the early 90s for a variety of companies from the original West End Games to WotC). And, by the way, since I started with 1st edition, look for more references....

Beyond that I can't say much (marketing departments and such), but I will say it definitely feels like a D&D game put into the context of a film. It's a great story, but you can easily imagine it as your home campaign. It's easily the best D&D movie yet (and I agree, I was extremely disappointed in the first one). This film is hardcore. The only other thing I will (can) say is this: the subtitle definitely hints at the tone of the movie.

Thanks for sharing this GRStrayton! Keep us posted when the time is ready to reveal more.

References to the older editions are a plus in my book :)

Hey, George, thanks for dropping by and sharing a few tidbits!

I'm not expecting great things out of the third movie, but I'm glad to hear that the franchise is at least continuing the upward trajectory! And I'm glad Silver brought you onboard for this one.

"Better than the first movie" should hardly be considered an accomplishment. I just want to know if it's better than "Dragons of Autumn Twilight."

;)

I'd watch the first movie again before I watched Dragons of Autumn Twilight in its entirety.
