White Wolf releasing 20th Anniversy Edition of V:tM

Seems a bit expensive. (And it don't have the money for it or I would get it). Hopefully a pdf will come out. As a special editions it's just going to gather dust. With a pdf their might be a critical mass of players for it. Hopefully at 400 pages there will be enough here to keep players interested for the year or so it'll take WW to restart production of the line once they see how this sells.

Is Vampire Requiem still going?

I havnt played Vampire TM for yeeears. Bloodlines (Troika games) got me interesting again for a while. But that was about it. I must admit, I wasnt sold on Requiem but again by the time it came around, I wasnt playing Vampire anymore.

I dont honestly see how anyone can expect an anniversary edition to make people interested in the line restarting again.

Having said that, Ill take a look. My favorite clan was always the Followers of Set.. if they are in there.. Ill purchase.

Insofar as the release marks anything more than the sales of one book, Vampire 20th is intended mainly to bolster White Wolf's prestige, and to promote their new MMO, which follows the Masquerade mythology more closely.

I have no doubt of it. And if you like Setites, you might like the Mekhet from Requiem.

They've already released the work in progress write-up for the Followers of Set, who were my favorite oWoD vamps as well. (Although I think the Mekhet in VtR are a lot more expansive and interesting, while still covering a lot of what I liked about the Setites.)

I recently picked up the whole original run for less money than that one book!

Granted the person selling them looked like they wanted to cry...

This is just a prestige anniversary release. VtR isn't going anywhere. The only VtM stuff I'd expect in the future would be a hardcover conversion guide, expanding on the PDF stuff they've recently released.
