[M&M2e] Red Sands Chronicles

"How many radios do we have?"
From the lack of response, he concluded that the answer was: none. "Silverstone, are there intercoms in the airlocked room and the inner bunker?"

Brian nods. "I don't really need mobility to manipulate heat, and I can navigate by thermals. If we're going to have to crawl through tight quarters with questionable lighting, I'm probably a logical choice."
"While we look at a closed door," pointed out Seif. "I think it better if you start opening the vault now, with the Ottoman's help. Klattta and I will take the airlocked chamber." He seemed somewhat irked? disappointed? by Shaughnessy's... bonelessness.

[sblock=Actions]I figure Brian and the Ottoman (with his Penetrating scimitar) are the best for the job, but feel free to disagree. Relique, if it's a go Seif will open the elevator and peer in, trying to locate the entrance to the crawl-ways. Do we have light on our suits? If not, Seif has a diesel lantern in his camel.[/sblock]

Brian Shaughnessy

"While we look at a closed door," pointed out Seif. "I think it better if you start opening the vault now, with the Ottoman's help. Klattta and I will take the airlocked chamber." He seemed somewhat irked? disappointed? by Shaughnessy's... bonelessness.

Brian sighed. He was finally realizing that nothing he did was likely to please the desert guide, who seemed to have an inexhaustible supply of disdain. He turned his attention to the door, then, which instantly frosted over and began to crack...

"Yes, there are."

OOC: Unfortunately their are none.

From the inside of the elevator shaft Seif can see what appears to be a recessed hatch about twenty feet up from the current level.

"Yes, there are."
"Thanks. Call you soon."

Brian turned his attention to the door, then, which instantly frosted over and began to crack...
"The crab-controlled is still loose," reminded Seif. "Be on your guard." Then he sliced through the melted elevator latch, forced the portal open with a push and a few kicks and jumped in without further ado. <assuming there's a floor?>

"Light?" questioned the desert man with just the barest trace of forlorn hope. He looked a bit peculiar through the face shield actually - naked, almost - without his veil.

<Response Deezy?>

OOC: Is there a ladder going up to the hatch, Relique? Or some way to get up there without jumping?

Deezy follows Seif into the elevator and peers upward, squinting.

"Light? You can't see? Look, there's a little door up there. Gimme a rope end. I'll jump up and find somewhere to attach it, then you can climb up after me."

She leaned over and adjusted a valve on the side of her boots. The footwear began emitting an ominous "charging up" noise.

"You have an odd sense of humor," deadpaned her companion. (Or did she really forget seeing him jump on rooftops or polevault over the town wall?)

He took up position below the hatch, as *he* remembered her entrance in the town square yesterday (on those very same boots, he would wager). And signaled for her to go.

[sblock=Actions]Seif will stand below the hatch, ready to catch Deezy if she misses her shot (or maybe help re-direct her if he can? Call it a +5 Help Another if appropriate). He'll then go up using a combination of his Polevault power and Acrobatics Skillmastery (auto 20). That's assuming there really *isn't* a ladder?

If Deezy hasn't already, he'll open the hatch and use Track to figure out of anybody has been through here recently (robot crabs come to mind :)).[/sblock]

The Ottoman readies his sword, to strike down the door.

OOC: Do I need to make the actual attack? I can get the Dmg DC up to 31 (leaving only a +1 attack and at -5 defense)

Ottoman and James
OOC: Just was waiting for you to say you are striking the door. :P

The Ottoman strikes the door, causing large chinks of frozen iron and steel to collapse onto the ground with multiple thunderous clanks. As the dust settles, Sahid and James are able to see that the second metalic door with small glass viewport.

Looking through the viewport, you are able to see that their is a small 15x15 room on the other side that has a similar door.

Seif and Deezy
The elevator sell has a series of metal rungs leading up the side wall towards the alcove where the hatch is located. Due to the depth of the alcove (about three feet) only one person can be within it at a time.

From the looks of the dust it doesn't appear as if a person was up in the alcove recently.

OOC: Ah, too bad. I was kind of enjoying that exchange. :)

"You have an odd sense of humor," deadpanned her companion before swinging up the ladder to the small alcove at the top. There didn't seem to be trace of anything human having been up there recently... but still he drew one sword and held it before him as he opened the hatch.

[sblock=Actions]Actually, his first reflex will be to try to use Acrobatics to jump back and down, grabbing the ladder just below the ledge of the alcove. If possible, of course.[/sblock]
