Ooc: Nice catch. It should be Abal since it Abal means Wild Rose (according to a name website). Originally she was a going to be a Galaxiasian (or should that be Galaxian) named Desert-Rose, but then I thought that her slaughtering her own people and making some of them slaves on the eve of a rite of passage would have made her more evil then she needed to be. As a result, I rolled the cultural dice and she ended up becoming a bedouin.

"Who's the Gearsmith? Does he have machines like this?"

Abal: Sense Motive 1d20+2=3
/facepalm.

"Spider controller,"

Abal smirked from under her veil as she glanced from the Beast to Seif then back towards the Beast, "Yes, the man who controls the metal spiders, the man your people call Brixby. You will not fool me into believing that you do not know who that infidel is,so do not try. Tell me what are your intentions."

Brian: 1d20 +2=20

[sblock=Brian]
The name Brixby is familiar. When Brian started working at the Foundry one of the engineer's was named C.W. Brixby. A few months after Brian began working there, Brixby was caught in an explosion which killed about 10 labours and was exiled from Victoria Town when it was discovered that he sabotaged the machine that exploded.

Brian Shaughnessy

Brian's eyes narrow slightly at the mention of the name, but he says nothing, merely giving Seif the briefest of glances to try to make it clear he has something to share when Abal is no longer in earshot.

"Yes, wise one. What *are* our intentions?" That self-destructive twist of the lips -- hidden beneath the veil, but they see it in memory now. Adrenaline was obviously still coursing through the desert man's system...

A look at Shaughnessy - acknowledgement - then back to the princess in the pearl.

<Response Ottoman?>

OOC: General Notice on all things Abal (weaponry, attitude, personnal decorations, etc): 1d20+10=29

"Remember your place, prisoner, you have no right to ask questions." replied the Ottoman. "Now tell us about your master, and the location og Slaughter town. "

The Ottoman raised an eyebrow at the desert man. Beneath it there was a glacial stare. He then turned to Abal again. There should be no sign of doubt or uncertainty while in presence of the swordswoman, she would feel it, and think of it as a weakness.

, stark contrast to the fires reflected on and in the hungry blue depths of Seif's eyes... He did catch a spark of approval/respect in there (for his answer to Abal? On general principle?) and he then turned to Abal again.

Behind him Seif crossed his arms as his strange mount snuffed and pawed the sand without affecting his balance in the least.

If you fall, Ottoman, I will catch you.

[sblock=OOC]And yes, I know Sahid's gotten off the camel a while ago. Not at all what he means by that. :)[/sblock]

Abal's eyes narrowed at the Ottoman in pure contempt. "I am not a barbarian and I am not a servant of that wretched Gearsmith or his demonic machines! By the supreme laws of Slaughter Town and our God, Darwin, the Gearsmith is weak and undeserving of survival!"

"Infidel, it is your mind, not my, that is poisoned." She glared. "For in your foolishness you committed blasphemy against our God, like Imam Rashid, by your refusal to use your blade in holy combat and instead use these foul majiks to dishonor me in the eyes of Darwin." She gripped her sword. "Release me, so I may demonstrate my worthiness by defeating you sacred battle and be deemed pure enough, in Darwin's eyes, to survive past the Gates of the Death where I shall venture to the holy citadel and reclaim the sacred ark that lies within." Her lips tightened.

" Remember your place, prisoner.... tell us about your master, and the location of Slaughter town. "

"Though you may deny me jihad, ever watchful Darwin shall still hold his sacred court. You may escape my wrath, but my Warlord and my Master will see that you are judged and that you are deemed too weak for survival." She laughed, "My master is Baru Suumu of the Shifting Sands. He is the right-hand of Muro, quartermaster of Slaughter Town, and he will avenge me by killing you with the Blade of the Desert-Fox, like he killed many of the Yakuza who slave for the Daichi no Zaibatsu and he shall do it without mercy within the Slaughter Town's sacred arena of battle in the shadow of Hectate. "

[sblock=Sahid] You once heard a rumor that Ewrin Rommel was given a 'blessed katana' by Tojo prior to WWII, which was lost sometime during his African campaign. The sword was said to be able to cause wind storms... [/sblock]
[sblock=Seif]They say that one of the most dangerous places to be in the Martian Wasteland is in a caravan caught in a sand storm within sight of the city-state of Daichi, because anyone unlucky enough to be caught in that situation tends to be slaughtered by an unknown swordsman.

Hectate = Hectate Tholus. The volcano has a large mining settlement built into a caldera that destroyed the volcano's northern slope. The settlement is within three hours from this location.... and two hours from the region the caravan was lost!
Teh fact that it's new name is "Slaughter Town" doesn't bode well for the settlement's original inhabitants.[/sblock]

Sahid listened patiently. "We should break her will, Shaughnessy, shatter her sword please." the Ottoman sentenced coldly, hands in his back.

After the process, he turns, and closing to the others he says in a soft voice. "She speaks of a poweful sword, from the time of Earth." he then adds. "A very dangerous, very ancient weapon, rumoured to be lost."

"A powerful sword?," Deezy asks dubiously from within the belly of the Beast. "How do you make a sword powerful...oh!" The doubt is instantly replaced by quivering eagerness. "Does it have little toothy blades that spin around the edges? Or maybe it's electrified! Or made from supersteel and shaved with such a thin edge that it cleaves anything!"

There's a pause, then, "I'm coming out."

Hydraulics hiss, and the crew compartment of the Beast lowers from behind its blast shielding to allow egress. A moment later Deezy is squirming out, her red hair splayed around her head like the fronds of an oddly colored dandelion.

She comes over to the sphere of water, peers curiously at the woman inside, then focuses on the water...touching it and tasting her fingertip.

"What's THIS?"
