Camlin strikes the orc facing him down bloodily and immediately another orc takes its place. Odo swings his deadly mace, but fails to connect this time. Turthain fires more arrows, but only one strikes an orc, and that is a minor hit at best, piercing the flabby, fat-laden tricep of an orc that, nevertheless howls in pain. Orc O2 steps into the space vacated by the deceased O4, to attack Cam. And he brings his gnarled club down upon the Ranger's pate for 5 hp of damage! And Odo is hit by both orcs he faces, one of them scoring a nat 20 crit! The cleric suffers 8 hp of damage total this round.
NOTE: For double damage, you don't roll once and multiply by 2, you roll twice as many dice with your full bonus added to each one of them.
HEROES ARE UP!
OOC:
For my convenience, here are orc health stats --
Orc HP (copied from post # 430)
O1 hp: 1d8 = 7 -6 (Turthain's arrow posts # 443, 462)
O2 hp: 1d8 = 7 -5 (Turthain's arrow post # 437)
O3 hp: 1d8 = 7 -4 (Odo in post # 452) O4 hp: 1d8 = 5 -6 (Camlin)
O5 hp: 1d8 = 4
O6 hp: 1d8 = 6
Miraculously, Both of Turthain's arrows fly true, and each one fells an orc. (This will not happen ordinarily. You can't split one round's attacks across more than one foe. Unless you're a troll, demon, or dragon. But we'll let it slide this time, as well as overlooking the misses. ) Camlin sidesteps to his left and whacks O6's head clean off its shoulders. Odo staggers back under the force of the damage he sustained, and slumps to the floor. He is stable, but unconscious. Two orcs remain, and they look none to certain. In fact, they (O3, O5) both quail at the martial prowess displayed by the adventurers, and they turn and flee.
