New Math and Gamma World

I crit!
Does anybody know if the D&D 4e Gamma World use the new math?

I've started running Gamma World and it's been a blast. I'm going to run at least one full campaign and it seems that the monsters use the new math but I'm no expert. I want to use creatures from MM3 and the Monster Vault and Dark Sun.

IIRC only the newer boxed set(s) monsters use the new math. New math average at-will damage is level +8, so compare a few monsters from each source to see if the math is "right".

PCs do very high damage, but note they have very little in the way of healing.

From memory yes it does.

In my old GW campaign, the DM threw a Monster Vault beholder at us. Plus some gauths. It worked pretty well. We all nearly died, but only one PC actually died. (We blew up the beholder with a time bomb we took off his corpse, though it still took some effort to finish the beholder off.)

WotC officially converted the froghemoth to 4e. Frankly the difference was miniscule.

And just to expand on that, I've never used MV in Gamma World - but I've certainly thrown Gamma World creatures at my 4e PCs for a change of pace. Almost killed them but not quite in the way tough MV fights do.

I haven't yet tried it. What was different?
