\I mean, it has some potential. It's a world essentially without deities but with dragons and primordials under a steel-grey sky... but that's hardly unique.

Are you kidding? I would play (or write) the HECK out of that setting. I want it now!!

Especially if I could develop my own parts of it, rather than being restricted to just the parts that joined with Faerun.

...

Also, I just realized...

Dragons, primordials, no gods? This is Athas before it became a wasteland! :D

That was precisely what I was thinking: it's Dark Sun with better weather (which is what I nearly posted).

I imagine if you published that, the peanut gallery would start bleating about how it ripped off Dark Sun.... ;)

It used to have no Gods before the Spellplague, then a bunch of them (the Mulhorandi Pantheon, possibly others) got sucked into the Place. With no competitition for Worshippers, I could the Mulhorandi quickly becoming the dominate religion on Abier. Possibly after fighting and killing any active remaining Primordials.

Dark Sun + better weather + Egyptian deities?

It might not be original, but it would make a great homebrew. :)

And, let's face it, it just is not popular....

If the D&D Multiverse were to be developed as a single setting, instead of cutting it into a bunch of different relatively popular or unpopular brands, then an Abeir worldbook (or maybe just a short writeup with a worldmap in the Manual of the Planes) would just be one more world for the PCs to visit.

Thanks for the responses.

Now that I think of it, this is a map of Abeir now that it switched places with Laerakond:

Does anyone know if the recent Sundering switched anymore parts of Abeir and Toril?
