Sorry to stir this up, but I love, love, LOVE the halfling art for 5e.
I know the proportions are getting to some people, but they're a) close to standard proportions for hobbits in art before LOTR movies, and b) the 5e is an attempt to go "old school" as they move forward.
I'm not a huge fan of the reversion of gnomes to bearded old guys, especially after 4e gave the pixy-gnome such support, which imho influenced the PHB2 *and* Pathfinder to make the gnome as awesome as they could.
And I liked the Eladrin/Elf split, which seems to have gone back to the direction of the FR sub-elf-a-palooza (high elves, wood elves, wild elves, grey elves, gold elves, silver elves... not my personal cup of tea, nor does it make sense to me to make so many divisions).
But yes, I love the halfling art. They shouldn't be chibi hawt girls, nor the 3e Halflings-as-insane-ninjas trope. IMHO, for whatever little that's worth. Those have their place, but for the standard halfing I appreciate the movement towards Tolkien.
