D&D 5E What monster am I thinking of

Just recently, while reading either the MM or 5th Edition foes, I saw a low-level (under 1 CR, I think) monkeylike creature that I mentally dubbed "monkey-goblins". Now, when I want to USE the creatures, I can't find them again. Anyone have a clue what I could be thinking of?

In Basic D&D there are "Phanatons."

1e had "Su Monsters."

I can't think of anything in the 5e MM that would be classified as "monkey goblins." 5th Edition Foes I've not seen.

That's really of no help, is it?:-S Sorry.

5th Edition Foes has gillmonkeys (evil CR 1/4 sea monkeys straight from the ad in the back of a comic book), kech (mansized evil monkeys with camouflage powers), madrills (actual primates, but that's a pretty scary picture), Taer (ape men of the north), and actual flying apes. may have been one of those.

I think what I remembered was a cross between Gillmonkeys and Kech. I ended up using regular goblin stats, and just adding a climb/travel through trees speed of 30'. I described them as goblins with prehensile tails, and gave them "primitive" weapons. The PCs only ran into 4 of them (at 6th level) so it was a VERY quick and simple fight, but fun because the theif had strayed off by herself behind a tree, and got critted. There was much discussion of what exposed piece of anatomy she got shot in... and why she was having trouble riding, thereafter.

But later the PCs will travel back through the same region, and I think then they're going to run into the whole tribe. Any special abilities you think the "boss goblin-monkeys" might have?
