I think, from a quick browse, the art is great, if repeated (unfortunately) a tad too much. The b/w style evokes the best from the Games Workshop era (Warhammer, Fighting Fantasy)! High praise coming from me!

Thanks! Credit where it's due: The artists are Mark Allen, Kent Burles, Storn Cook, Tommaso Galmacci, and Steve Lines.

...Sword & Sorcery is best played as a very mature setting for those willing and able to handle decidedly non-modern tropes of exaggerated stereotypes ...

I fully agree with everything you said there and in the following paragraphs. That said, I think that GMs and players could (and should) shake up the genre stereotypes if they feel like it. Every barbarian doesn't have to be healthy and wholesome, you could have evil barbarians and good sorcerers for that matter. As long as the table is having fun, run with it.

PS. This is why I personally was satisfied when John Carter of Mars bombed: I think the idea of disneyificating S&S is oxymoronic and stupid. It tells me the exec saw S&S as just some rollercoaster adventure setting, completely shedding all that makes the genre valuable and interesting (as listed above). S&S needs the premium cable treatment, dammit! DS.

I actually think it was a pretty good movie, although it would of course have been totally awesome if they made it something like "Game of Thrones in Space"... ! :) Same with the Tarzan movie from a few years ago, so much opportunity lost by not making it more true to Burroughs. And don't get me started on the Conan movies (all of them, actually), it really bothers me that they can't just make a Conan movie based on an original Howard story. Instead they just take the name and replace the content with some BS written in Hollywood, and it predictably bombs every time. Imagine Peter Jackson using the name "Lord of the Rings", but replacing the story, do you think it would be a success? All right, I think I have to end my little movie rant here...

Are you planning to update the older stuff (Spider-God's Bride, Land of the Silver Lotus, etc) as well, by any chance?

No immediate plans to update old stuff to 5E, I would rather focus on publishing new material. That said, I don't think it will be too hard to convert the older adventures, mostly by replacing the NPCs and monsters with similar NPC/monster stat blocks from the 5E MM. Also, I can highly recommend "Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu Mythos" book for 5E, as it is full of genre-appropriate monsters.

Since the mods yanked the OP picture without leaving the link, can we get a new text download link please?

Huh. I didn't post any pictures, just a link to the book. I'm always surprised by the fact that monsters, blood and violence seems to be OK in movies, comics and games; but some nipples must be censored like the plague. Anyway, if you just google "world of xoth", you should be able to find the website and the book (and lots of other free downloads) within a couple of clicks.

What are you, French?! Clearly not American anyway. :p
I still mildly resent that someone on Dragonsfoot objected to my Wilderlands S&S game blog, presumably for the Page 3 type pics, and now Google posts a warning whenever I go there. I've had to keep my new Primeval Thule game blog nipple-free!

My guess is that your download link gets previewed by the forum software, displaying the front illustration as a clickable image.

Please edit your first post - there currently is no download link at all.

You might want to consider changing your hosting solution so that the preview image is completely safe for work.

ahem
We DID edit this out for a reason... At any rate, The Admiral has asked that I simply add a NSFW warning.

Edit #2: we were still getting the NSFW images when clicking this link as well, so we’re putting up the same tag as in the other spots. It may have something to do with browser settings, different mobile devices or use of apps, but we can’t be sure. So safety first!

I place Xoth as a continent to the east of the main landmass in my Primeval Thule campaign. I've used material from all four of the published adventures and they work great.
